We ordered windows from them in March, paid a 50% deposit, and were told the windows would arrive the first week of April. That time came and went, we gave them a buffer, and after hearing nothing contacted them in late April for an update. They couldn’t find our order, said they’d call us back, never did. Called again and was finally told they’d forgotten to order the windows until a week after we placed the order (guessing they meant… forgot entirely) and that our windows would arrive the first week of May. That time came and went, we generously gave them a buffer AGAIN, and on May 20th called for an explanation. Well, now our windows will be here May 31st. I’ll believe it when I see it. I’m guessing they forgot to order again. We’ve had to reschedule installation TWICE due to their failure to meet their side of the agreement and we’ve lost money on accommodation deposits for family who offered to help us with prep, clean up, and other aspects surrounding install.
We cannot recommend WBS to others in good conscience as they’ve now repeatedly failed to communicate delays or mistakes and either tried to give us the run around or are just totally incompetent at using their own order system. Due to a total lack of voluntary communication I can only assume they would have taken our deposit and ‘run’ if we hadn’t pressed for answers. Jury is still out on whether we’ll get any windows.

I've bought lumber from a few places locally. Watauga's prices are on par with the others, but the delivery really stands out. Every time it's been fast, and the delivery guys are right on time and friendly. Lumber quality has been consistently good as well.

Very unhappy. We could not have been more patient with them. Going on 5 months for about 220 dollar refund on returned deck screws. We have purchased over 10000 dollars in decking from these guys over 6 years. Chris never returns calls. We would be glad to share our experience. Unbelievable!

One star because they delivered the product I ordered. Over the past 6 years purchased materials for 3 decks. Never a problem. We know if you over purchase, return with 25% restocking fee. Last deck, was like pulling teeth. Took four months to get about 300 bucks for 15 boards returned. Now 5 months from 6 boxes of screws yet to be refunded. Almost 300 dollars. No returned calls, no attempt to rectify. Chris avoids all calls. Shameful. We are glad to share our experience. Horrible experience.

I dropped by watauga building supply today 10/20/23 and spoke to Chris about making a key for me for my ATV. Chris was very helpful in finding the right key to fit . Thank you Chris for your great help and will be back again . Again thanks sir .

As there are no hardware stores left, and the big chain building supply houses are worthless, this place deserves 6 stars. Very helpful. Stock of what is needed.

Great shop with lots of variety and excellent prices. Really good stuff for the mountain man. And the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. In particular David did a great job helping us find what we needed and we really enjoy chatting with him and getting to know him and his colleagues.
