This company only cares about pumping students in and out to rake in $$$ and the grounds management and does a horrible job of maintaining the properties. They also do a terrible job of maintaining appliances. As much money as the students and parents have to pay, it is disgusting how poorly of a job they do. They do not care about you or that you are paying good money to live in this cheaply made apartment complex. The carpet sucks, the stoves suck, the dishwashers suck, and I am surprised the toilets even flush. The maintenance persons cannot repair anything correctly and constantly put it off. Did I mention that they never clean out the dog feces disposal cans? Yeah they just seem to pile up with dog crap. Good luck finding a parking spot in the visitor spots, they designed those for tiny matchbox cars, and even if you have plenty of normal spots available, some jerk who works for the parking boot company will come by and slap a boot on your car and charge you $110.00 This place sucks, parents/students if you are reading this, look elsewhere because this facility is a joke.

Kuester I moved up to Boone as a transfer student at App State for the spring semester. I was desperately looking for housing, and stumbled upon Kuester's complex, Turtle Creek West. After only one semester under their management I've signed onto a different complex. Taking the chance against Kuester's horrible reviews on here most definitely did not pay off. Upon moving in, I was told that the apartment had been checked for any maintenance issues and would be addressed immediately. Weeks into living there and no one had come to fix any of the issues, including a broken microwave. I would call maintenance and all the staff were generally very unfriendly and rude as though I disrupted their day to follow up in maintenance. Also, the sheet with the 24/7 maintenance number isn't even for any company related to Kuester in NC. Service was slow and unpredictable and I still have a broken microwave 3 weeks before move out. The leaders prior to me also had a dog that left stains all through the carpet leaving an odor when I first moved in. Upon move in, they forgot to give me my parking sticker which resulted in my having to make another trip to the office to pick it up, before that happened, the towing company had already put locks on my wheels and insisted I pay the tenant fee of $90 to have it freed. A couple months into my lease, I also found vomit all over the breezeway, elevator and ground making it impossible to walk my dog around it. The odor was very strong and I called the office to have it cleaned. First I was asked to clean it myself, then the manager sent out an email threatening a charge to all accounts on that floor if someone didn't step forward. She then waited 4 days to send someone to clean it only after my dad calling and complaining for health concerns. The manager then proceeded to say that they hadn't received a call about the mess. But the email and charge to my account said otherwise. Parking and visitor parking are both very limited and had to park at the other end of the complex some nights. Dog waste bags were never refilled anywhere on the property. Routine maintenance checks were sporadic and uncomfortable as they let themselves into your apartment. Bottom line: for the price of this complex and the very rude nature of each employee I've come in contact with, it's a total scam. Now I feel as though I'm waiting for them to blame me for any and all issues with the apartment and take away from my deposit. Kuester you are all crooks.

I lived at Turtle Creek West for almost 2 years and overall enjoyed my experience. We had multiple small issues in the apartment that we had to call maintenance for but they always came in quickly and took care of us. The price I feel is the best bang for your buck in Boone. The Kuester Offices always respond and are very friendly. The only big issue I had was internet speed but as of January 2018 they have took care of that issue. Great apartment complex, friendly staff and fast internet. Do hope in the future they take care of picking up dog poop and keep the outside apartment a little cleaner.

Worst apartment complex in Boone. Got booted and paid $120 because there wasn't anymore visitors spots so I parked in a compact one. Then my wheel was touching the parking line and got booted again. DO NOT give them your business and STAY AWAY.

After living here now for a while bit I thought I'd jot down a few pros and cons for those of you thinking about turtle creek west. Disclosed I do live in a two bedroom with one dog so this may not be the case for every apartment Pros: -nice living space -good sized kitchen -no dog breed restrictions as long as your dog is friendly you're good -reasonable applekart stop (although the stop is across the street despite having a bus shelter next to the building) -Easy payment options for rent all done online -Nice staff in the office; additionally the maintaince happens faster than most out here -recently fixed visitor parking(they do love booting cars though so know your booting laws because most time you can catch them on a technicality, like not having a proper license or being able to provide you with a receipt) Cons -If you have a dog only 1/13 pick up their dogs poop even your dog will be dodging poop piles -They've promised higher speeds for internet but it seems the whole building is running off one bandwidth because as soon as everyone is home our speeds go from 10-15 (15 is what they say we have) to 0.5-.01 especially at night and no improvement in sight this also fluctuates rapidly within 10 mins these jumps can happen THIS IS THE WORST ISSUE in my Oppinion because I had to get on my phone to use data to submit this review. -not me but a friend of mine had a problem with the company management. since he was looking for a more permanent house and wasn't sure that he could close on it yet he wanted to wait until the 90 day period he was allowed to as listed on the lease. They wanted him to resign early so they threatened not agreeing to sign off on their part and terminating his lease at the end of his leasing period. -Passive aggressive emails galore! In 3 days I received five emails from them about different things. If they spent more time prosecuting the people violating their noise policy(not really a big issue anyway) and catching people who don't pick up after their dogs while spending less times creating emails that barely get to us with the often slow internet it would be a whole lot better! -Parking! First, there are 4 motorcycle spots in front of each of the 4 buildings and not one motorcycle...Second the entire back row are compact car spots and most of the time trucks and SUVs end up having to take these spots making parking in the middle lanes dangerous and usually require a 3 pt turn to get out of your spot. 3rd and finally, the booting they are some of the fastest boosters ever one day my friend came up, I asked him if he used a visitors space (marked by a yellow "V") he said no I told him to go move his car, he went directly back out and there was a boot... it was late at night we had to run to the bank to grab 40 bucks and pay the dude over all awful experience with that Over all Good spot with room for improvement, our location is great you could walk to campus (not a pretty walk) but about a 20 min walk Even though we're a 5 min drive to campus we're a quiet spot that is easy to drive to or from with plenty of courteous residents (besides some of the dog owners) the apartments are nice with plenty of space and if kept clean look very nice!

If I could give kuester -1,000 stars, I would. This apartment agency is honestly the WORST agency on the whole planet. I have never seen management so bad in my entire life. When we first moved in here the burners on our stove were missing and they said they'd get new ones to us the next day. The next day comes and no burners. WEEKS GO BY AND STILL NO BURNERS. It amazes me that a company this popular cannot provide the basic necessities for their tenants. The cabinets were coming apart and the dryer is literally something that came out of a horror movie. In order to actually have dry clothes you need to run the dryer about 5-6 times. Honestly, you might just want to air dry your clothes because that'll probably make them dry faster than the piece of poop they provide you with. MAINTENANCE IS HORRIBLE!! They have 5 apartment complexes and only 2, yes 2, maintenance to manage all of them. Also, let me just say that these apartment complexes probably hold at LEAST 50 apartments in one complex so that's about 250 apartments with 2+ people living in them and they expect 2 maintenance workers to do the job of all of them. DON'T EVEN EXPECT THEM TO COME AND HELP YOU IN THE WEEKENDS, unless it's an emergency. We signed a lease for a room that had vaulted ceilings that reached about 20 feet. Of course kuester puts a smoke detector on the ceiling where we can't reach. They expect you to do the little things like changing batteries, light bulbs, etc. Well, it was a chilly Saturday morning (approximately 5am) when we heard that god forsaken beep that the smoke alarm does when the batteries are low my girlfriend and I are very light sleepers so it immediately woke us up. When we realized which one it was we could not believe our eyes. Since we don't have leg extensions, we had to trek to Walmart and BUY A LADDER to get up to the top. This was no easy task. We took about three trips to Walmart and bought/returned three different ladders and we still could not get up there to change the battery. We called the maintenance guy and literally begged him to come and fix it for us so we could get some rest. His response: "Well, I won't be able to get there until Monday morning and technically I'm not suppose to be doing this for you." HELLO, EARTH TO KUESTER, IF YOU WANT YOUR TENANTS TO CHAMGE THEIR OWN BATTERIES IN SMOKE ALARMS, THEN DON'T PUT THEM SO HIGH IN THE AIR!! On top of this fiasco, we had to change the batteries in every single room of this apartment this year, I would at least expect kuester to do that for us prior to moving in. The next complaint about kuester that I have is that their plumbing is disastrous. If you plan on washing your hair, make sure it's not too long because it'll clog that drain up immediately. The sink is just as bad. We've had to buy 5 bottles of Draino this whole year and we're ending the lease with both the sink and tub clogged. ATTENTION! EVERYONE WATCH OUT! KUESTER WILL ROB YOU OF ALL YOUR MONEY!! On top of a pretty pricy rent, there are an enormous amount of fees!! If you want to have a pet there is a pet deposit of $300 dollars! (That goes for rodents too!). And then you have to pay a monthly fee of $40. That's literally so ridiculous it makes me want to throw up. Don't even think about a big dog because there's a weight limit of 45 pounds! They have a ridiculous trash fee where if you leave your trash bags outside (PROBABLY SO YOUR HOME DOESN'T SMELL) they will charge you 10 extra dollars that month for a "trash violation." Recently they sent out an email saying that they are thinking about starting a trash business where if you pay $15 a month they will take your trash down to the dumpster, which sounds nice, but when you can already just pay $10 extra a month why would you want to add 5 more dollars onto that when you'll eventually take your own trash down when you have time (because you're probably a VERY busy college student)? Since it is the end of the year, we recently receiv

I wouldn't rent from them ever again even if they are the last place to ever go to rent from. Management doesn't give a rats ass about anyone but their self and the money they make off of us college kids. I was at Highland Crossing and the property that their office is at they can't even keep clean. The dumpsters all ways full and even when not full management cannot seem to walk around to keep the grounds cleaned. Plus they don't seem to care about student safety when "roommate matching" they will just stick you with someone even when you voice how it is important that you meet the person before they move in. I was told that before any one was to move into the unit I had lived in the year before I would get some say so as into who would roommate with me, but was just a lie. The ground are a mess, dog crap every where and on a hot even a warm day thats all you smell when walking out from the stairs, can't even have windows open or the air on because thats all you smell, that and the trash. I had tried to deal with the roommate issues myself but when that didn't work I went to management from hell and all they did was make matters worse. They said they would help and set up a meeting and that never took place because they didn't care about anything but about getting their money. Not only that but when I moved in I was told my room was painted and cleaned and wasn't even touched. Not only that but the people they have to do this can't even do their job right. So please what ever you do do not rent from them, I have drove by their other places and they may not be in as bad shape as mine, but with their office at where I was located you think they would keep the grounds clean at all times but they don't. They will tell you we have so many other please to keep up with but thats just a lazy excuse saying deal with it.

I enjoyed living with the Kuester Companies for the past year. While the company is not perfect, they have taken great strides to make sure that my experience with them was positive. The apartments they own are incredibly nice, most being built in the past 5-6 years, which is fairly unheard of in Boone. And most importantly, they are built to LAST and are very durable with college students. As for the negative comments about dog poop and cigarette butts. That is not solely a Kuester problem, that is a tenant problem. Kuester cannot discriminate tenants and therefore people will fall through the cracks and cause problems. I loved having a newer unit with all-inclusive rent, as a college-student goes: it's fancy living. I would definitely recommend checking out the properties that Kuester rents and I bet you will find that the apartments are a great value.

This company took advantage of me and many more. I signed a lease for the 2013-2014 year knowing I was leaving in December and would have to terminate my lease. Before signing it the lease I was told that at any time I could terminate my lease and pay a fee of two months rent. I went in to do this and they told me that their policy had been changed and then showed me in the fine print of the lease. It states "All policies are subject to change without notification"

I would give 0 stars if I could. I hope people find this review and read it before making a huge mistake and deciding to sign a lease here. This company is notorious for overcharging tenants and not giving security deposits back. They will charge you for turn over after you decide to move out and have even had class action lawsuits filed against them for it (easy to google). It's not for just one of their properties, but all of them. The complaints are all similar also if you read the reviews on apartmentratings and yellowpages. BEWARE. Cars booted, poor construction, no proof of extra charges, dog poop and cigarette butts everywhere, I feel like signing a lease here is one of the biggest mistakes of my life, please don't make the same mistake I did.
