Called ahead and ordered several pizzas. They were ready precisely on time, and then checkout was a breeze.

Average Harris teeter experience. Good for discounted vegetables.

While visiting Boone, NC, we had a great shopping experience in the HT. My wife’s glasses and sun shades fell into the orange juice case and Scotty came to the rescue. Scotty went behind the display and found the shades. Thank you.
Additionally, being from Chapel Hill, we weren’t familiar and couldn’t find the mashed potatoes. Then Carson led us to the display so we could make a selection. Thank you Carson. Finally, at checkout, Bridget was very friendly (this was crazy graduation weekend) and welcomed us to the area and wished us a pleasant visit. HT has a great team. Thanks again….the Wits

Apparently if you asked for custom anything from the meat counter, it’s automatically a problem. Excuses, excuses and more excuses. I get told that they have one inch cut porterhouses in the meat section, packed and ready to go. Then I was told, we will see you when you get here. However, when I arrive at the store the people working the meat counter ignore me. The “co-manager”, Keith, is standing right there and tried to get the “Ed”, the older fella working the meat counter to help me. I pull the “co-manager” to the side and told him what happened on my phone call and that I was told they had inch thick porterhouses already cut and packaged. Nope! They did not and upon making contact with Keith, he starts to tell me how I’m angry. That I’m always angry when I come into the store. Well maybe Keith, you don’t know what angry is. Anyways, Keith thinks he can use his position as “co-manager” to invade my personal space and belittle me. Then an assistant manager comes and starts taking up for Keith, who has now actually made me upset. She stands there with her arms crossed and wants to add her two cents in about a situation that she just now became a part of. All of this for some custom cut steaks. Tell me wth the point of having a meat counter is if they don’t help you or get you custom cuts? This isn’t my first run in with Keith, as now he threatens to have me banned from the store for doing nothing wrong but asking for help at the meat counter. If you think you can use your position to intimidate customers for your own personal vendetta and/or amusement, you are wrong. Smile really big guy! Crap rolls downhill!

Don't show up in working class apparel; be prepared to be targeted as an outsider to the enlightened part-time academics using this predatory commercial front to observe the struggles of the local community for their perverse incentive.

The gurst thing you notice at this store is that they have a fish counter. You know, because you can smell it outside in winter. Then, while shopping, you may also notice that no one looks particularly happy. This is probably because the other customers and staff of the store itself are extremely rude. Not an excuse me or thank you in the place.Besides those charming details, the fact that everything is significantly more than every other store in town will catch your eye as well.I stopped here to grab a few 20oz sodas for the kids and carton of individual wrapped cookies for the kids while we waited for their mother at the doctors office. If I can help it, I'll never step foot in this place again. I wish I never had in the first place. There are much better stores. it's not worth going in this one.

Harris Teeter is a little pricier than a couple of the other stores, but they have excellent sales on items we use a lot.

Poison Rat traps out front and bird whistles. Rat traps literally smelled of dead animal as you walking the store. I think there are 3 rat traps in the front entrance alone. Poison is not what you want to see and death is not what you want to smell when you walk into a luxury - priced grocery store. The whistles are confusing and annoying. Who cares if there are birds out front? If you have a rat problem, it's probably because of food not being kept / cleaned up properly. Probably a corporate short cut that falls on the little guy, but still, do better. More trees = more hawks / snakes = less rats / mice. Convert some parking spaces and pavement into forest. Will help with flooding as well and shade on hot summer days. Don't ever buy poison! It kills the natural predators that would normally control the rodents
