Had to bring my cat in on 2/8/24 because she was limping. Everyone working was so caring and attentive. Right when I came in, they had someone check on Ms. Poppy while I filled out the paperwork and before I knew it, they had her back for X-rays. Everyone who works here was so sweet. My cat, despite being in pain, was calm the whole time and loves the clinic staff.Ms. Poppy ended up being fine and probably just pulled something, but the emergency vet clinic team called the next morning to follow up and check on her. Overall a very organized, communicative staff who very clearly love their jobs and care greatly for the animals. So grateful for you guys!

We took our dying cat ,whom we love so dearly today to be put down. There was no compassion and they were so cold. The receptionist failed to ask for payment when she admitted us. She came in during the procedure and said it had to be paid before they could finish..It made our grief so much worse !!!!

Stay away from this place if your dog has a respiratory illness. I adopted a dog with severe respiratory illnesses, in sept who had just given birth to her 5 puppies. The day after I adopted her I took her to clinic which is owned by the same company who owns this place. They said she just had kennel cough. Which wasn't true, her breathing was so labored constantly, she was barely hanging on. So I took her home and monitored her all night. She was barely breathing and refused to eat or drink anything. So, I brought her here and they admitted her for 4 days. They said she could no longer nurse per puppies because she would be on strong meds. I asked them for antibiotics for the puppies since they were exposed to their mom's illnesses. The mom Was dropped off at a rescue the day she had her puppies. She was very malnourished and apparently not vaccinated for kennel cough or flu. One of the vets ( I don't recall his name ) said he doesn't give antibiotics to puppies that young. He said " you just have to understand that these puppies will not make it ". I paid over $7000 for my dog to stay there and they ended up putting her down because they said if I took her home she would die on the way from lack of oxygen. I asked if I could give her oxygen at home and they said no. I believed them so I let them put her down. I was devastated, even though I only knew her a couple of days before bringing her here. What really upsets me is, they didn't test her blood for respiratory illnesses until her last day there. Why wouldn't they do that bloodwork the first day they had her ?? I asked them to send the bloodwork to lab because I wanted to know what she had, In order to try to save her puppies. She tested positive for 2 respiratory illnesses and negative for distemper and canine flu. After her 3rd puppy died, I did my own research online, I found oxygen crates on Amazon for $50 and was advised to ask a vet to send in an order for oxygen at Boone drug. Our new vet did this for us right away. She also gave us clavamox and doxycycline. The 2 surviving puppies had to be tube fed for a week because they refused to eat. They had to get subcutaneous fluids a few times to treat dehydration. The survivors are very healthy now (10 weeks old) . If you are going through this, get an oxygen crate, antibiotics, puppy formula, keep them in a very warm room. Ask your vet to order an oxygen concentrator from Boone drug, it's $50 per month to rent. In our case the puppies received 3 liters of oxygen per minute. This was constant oxygen until their lungs recovered from pneumonia. These puppies were only 1.5 to 2 lbs when they started getting oxygen.

Took my dog Zelda here because she wasnt feeling well and was vomiting. She ended up having a foreign body obstruction and need emergency surgery. The staff and doctors were very kind and understanding . They gave me constant updates and didn’t give attitude or anything when I called a million times to get updates on her. Because of them my baby is alive.

Thankful we have this place in Boone. Yes, it’s crazy expensive, but if it saves your pet’s life, then it’s worth it. Our dog had an Addisonian crisis last night, it came on so fast we rushed her there at 3:30 a.m. and they were able to push fluids and steroids to get her back to normal and back to us. It was a Saturday night so waiting for our vet was not an option as she would have died by Monday morning. Thanks to the staff there! Keep doing what you do!

Everyone here is very knowledgeable and kind. Within 2 minutes of explaining to the receptionist what was wrong with my cat, she was able to identify the problem and get him the help he needed. The staff is very friendly and understands that hard decisions take time to make. They were very patient with me and allowed me all the time I needed. They’re also very honest with the treatment your pet needs. My cat had to stay over night and I felt at peace knowing they would take great care of him. I could not recommend this place enough!

I've taken two of my animals to the high country ER. Both times the staff has been outstanding, front to back. Clean and well cared for facility. All staff treated my animals with great care. Can't say enough good things about this place. Thank you to all who cared for Molly and Missy ❤️

Staff and doctor were extremely friendly and helpful. My 2 year old cat is back to great health with the help of this team. The price was not unreasonable. They even called back the next day to check on her.

Over priced and my cat was given an incorrect diagnosis, which led to his health declining even worse. Had to take my cat to another vet 3 days after my visit here, was charged less than half and given the proper medication to treat him.The vet told me my cat either has leukemia or a concussion. He was wrong about both and then charged me 250$ for doing essentially nothing but giving me medication for an ailment my pet did not haveOnly go to this place for emergencies or if your pet requires blood work or transfusions and be prepared to pay gouged prices since they are the only place open on weekends.Save your money and your pet and go somewhere else

This was the first time my cat has been sick and they were very compassionate and helpful through the whole process. My cat was well taken care of and all better after his over night stay with them. I’m so grateful they were able to help my cat through a rough time. 10/10 recommend!

I brought in a foster cat in the wee hours of the morning. Austin was extremely caring, thorough and empathetic. I think he did a great job collecting information to help diagnose her. Dr Sparks was an angel, she was incredibly kind and helpful. They made a bad situation bearable and I appreciate this facility a ton.

I can’t even begin to express how grateful I am for the care and compassion shown to our sweet girl River and to us as well as we just experienced a very scary, life threatening illness of Bloat. We have had to make visits here in the past due to not being able to get fit into our regular vet for same day appointments (colitis (stress poops!), a torn nail, and a random case of kennel cough.) But nothing that was ever life or death. I say this because it’s easy to get frustrated with the unknown wait times, but it’s important to remember those that are critical will get the care needed more urgently. We’ve had to wait 3hrs before she could be seen once for another reason, but knowing they are trying to save another animals life is important for perspective. The staff were amazing with staying very calm and caring while I was was upset, crying and trying to process things while signing papers for surgery. They made sure to explain everything in as much detail that they could for me and my husband to know exactly what would happen. They even let me go back to see her before surgery just in case which i appreciated having that moment. Our girl stayed over night and we got updates while in their care.I’ll never hesitate to take our pets here in the chance of emergency or cannot get an appointment in time with our primary vet. Wish I could give every staff member who was there that day we came in a massive hug and thank you!
