Derek Cook of 421 Auto service crashed and totaled my car.
On 3/3/24 I dropped my vehicle off through the after hours key drop. After my car sat in the lot for four days with no work on it, on 3/8/24 Mr. Cook decided to take my car out for a test drive on the foggiest day of the season, and subsequently crashed and totaled my car. You may notice inside of the auto shop (if you choose to visit it) there is a sign posted that says to “never take a car out in unclear conditions” This was not previously posted and was only printed off and hung up after my car was crashed and totaled by 421 auto. I would not recommend 421 auto service and they have obviously lost my business. I am understanding enough to realize that this was simply a massive accident and a huge mistake on their part. However due to the fact that my ONLY asset is now gone, I do not feel it was handled properly and I do not feel I got justice. Morally speaking, Mr. Cook personally could have aided me in the process of getting a new vehicle. Please choose a different auto service to entrust your vehicle with.

I meant to write this almost three months ago but got busy. Anyway, under the new management at 421 Tire (which has been over two years now), I can safely say that the people there are honest, hardworking, trustworthy, and kind. If you work for the Post Office, then I recommend this place. I had to bring in my Prius due to my tire going flat and they found nothing wrong, and nothing wrong has happened since then (back in December of 2024). They didn't charge me for it. I can't remember the names of the two workers but they did a good job. There's nothing else to say except that I can vouch for them.

Here to sing the praises of 421 Auto and Wayne. These guys are trustworthy, efficient, and kind. Wayne has done several things on my 10 year old Subaru and I just won't go anywhere else now. Made an appt to get my rear brakes and roters changed. Dropped the car off at 8:10a and got a text at 10:13a that my car was done. I trust their pricing and that they are not going to do anything that doesn't need to be done. You are just not going to find that level of service anywhere else. Thanks, guys!

My wife and I were travelling through Boone when our 2013 Durango overheated on a late Friday afternoon. We stopped in to 421 Auto service and met with Derek the owner. He stopped what he was doing analyzed the problem and put some transmission fluid in to get us on our way. He probably spent a half an hour with us, and again we dropped in completely unannounced. He was very accommodating and helpful and I would recommend him to anyone in the future.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Had radiator replaced on a 1992 Camry and asked them to conduct a coolant flush at the same time due to the previous owner using radiator sealant. I paid for the flush but later I find out it wasn't performed. less then a year later my thermostat got clogged by the sealant that wasn't flushed and it overheated. now I'm stuck with a blown head gasket and warped cylinder head. this place isn't what it used to be with the previous owner and would not advise getting your car worked on here.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Have a 2006 Chrysler 300 that was stalling out and had no idea what was up. They ran diagnostics and spent time driving it to reproduce the stalling and went so far as to find a technical bulletin by Chrysler about the Evap valve non-functioning and eligible for warranty servicing. They also replaced a broken oil dipstick and checked the transmission. Very timely and friendly service with knowledgeable technicians. Will recommend to others for their professional and hospitable service.

Terrible service. Went in this morning for a simple and quick tire plug fora nail in the tire. Said they were busy and that i could leave it. No cars in the bay. No one working on a car. Two guys in the office doing nothing Just plain lazy.
