Nice place and cute building. Just issue was with ice on roadway. A little maintenance would have fixed that. Plus if lower level of building. You will hear everyone on top.
Rooms: Was clean and everything for a personal use
Nearby activities: Restort was real close.
Safety: Beside ice on driveway and walkways. It was pretty good

We really enjoyed our stay here. Rooms were exceptionally clean. Very convenient location to Appalachian ski resort. Front desk was so helpful and friendly. Rooms are definitely a little dated but I had already read that in previous reviews so I wasn’t surprised. The price I feel reflects that. It was actually quite charming. We plan on coming back again. Much more bang for your buck than a hotel.

Friendly and responsive service. Great location for App Mountain skiing, close to downtown Blowing Rock and Boone (driving distance). Cozy property, has a clubhouse with TV, books, foosball. The cabin was tight quarters for 2 adults and 3 teens, but we knew that going in. It was clean. The mattresses need to be replaced and they should add recycling options. We had a good experience.

I’m giving this place a 1 star because when I pulled up we booked a 2 bedroom and instead we were given a 3 bedroom (???) and then when we pulled up to the house after going out for New Years Eve plans at 1 am the police are HERE because the NEIGHBORS threatened to shoot our OTHER NEIGHBORS over… A PARKING SPOT. Why????

This place could do with an upgrade. TV system is so outdated. Maybe change to Smart TV's, and bigger TV's would be good.
The noise from upstairs units is very bad, as you can hear all the movement. Unit was warm for a cold and wet winter weekend, but so many strange noises from plumbing system.
I would stay in the Blowing Rock town area on next visit to the area.
Ps. Receptionist was very friendly!

We stayed in a studio, which was smaller than expected, so it's good for one or two nights. There was loud stomping from the upstairs unit till about 11pm. The community was cute but could tell it's been around for a while. Check in was very flexible, but check out is not. I wish it could be 10:30 or 11, especially when some light cleaning is required.

This is a great place if you're looking for a quiet, peaceful setting. It is rustic and a bit dated, but we were satisfied. We had everything we needed. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

We had high hopes as we drove up to this cabin . So very cute.
The air condition was not working when we arrived. And the heat from the baseboard was on and no way to turn it off. We called the emergency number that they specified to call and never heard back from anybody. The problem is that I have asthma issues and I need air-conditioning and the mildew smell and the cabin was very heavy. The next day they still didn’t call us. We went to the office and they sent somebody to check the air conditioner. However, it’s not a real air conditioner and only blows fan, so the end of the hot summer and we have a heat on and no air conditioner. The cabin was very cute and very clean. However, I needed air condition and we had two days without air condition. So if you think you’re going to come in the summer, there is no air conditioning and it’s too uncomfortable and sticky.
October 1 update. I ended up in urgent care due to the mold in this cabin. Hundreds of dollars into my Doctor bills and there is nobody to call about what’s going on in this place. Do not stay here. I am telling you there’s nobody to help you if God forbid your air condition doesn’t work. I ended up with asthmatic bronchitis because I couldn’t get anybody to come fix the air conditioner. Please find another place.

My husband and I brought our daughter for a one night stay. We really enjoyed our stay. It was a perfect rustic mountain stay for our weekend trip. There was plenty of room for our daughter to run and play. We were able to build a fire and sit in the rocking chairs over looking the trout pond. The cabin was very clean and the baseboard heaters quickly heated the rooms. The living room had nice furniture with a beautiful set of gas logs.
Nearby activities: These cabins are all centered around a small pond. They stock the pond with trout and offer fishing equipment if you would like to do some fishing. You will need to bring your own bait.
There is a playset on grounds for small kids to run around and play.
They offer several fire pits for cooking or to just enjoy a nice fireside sit.

A beautiful mountainous area with a 5 minute drive to an out look for sunsets and star gazing. Close location to the nearby town of Blowing Rock, which is great for convenience and stuff to do. The village is also about half hour way to grandfather mountain and close to a winery on the way back.
As you can see, I don't totally hate this place but in fact, think it's a great stay with potential to make it better if the owners decide to read this review.
For a summer getaway, i can't recommend staying here. Trying to stay cool in the cabins was a serious issue even while bringing portable air conditioners to accommodate the situation. Even after extra AC units on top of the puny window AC they provided in the leaving room, they absolutely struggled to keep the bedrooms and living room cool. This place would work better in the winter where staying cool isn't a problem.
Water pressure throughout the whole cabin was problematic where you can't take a shower if someone is washing dishes or even washing hands! You would be lucky to take a shower after a long day hiking with family. I decided that the best strategy for water pressure was to take a shower at night where there's less people using the water.
Tv was outdated and didn't even have any signal to watch any channels, so that was completely useless when wanting to chill from being out all day. Other amenities and feel to the cabin were also outdated.
Our beds were kind of uncomfortable and brought some memory foam pads just in case which came in handy.
One huge savior of this place was that good wifi despite having no phone service.
Owner, if you read this, I would ignore the uncomfortable beds, outdated technology and interior for a modern proper HVAC system and better water pressure throughout the cabins.
Wouldn't recommend for summer, maybe for winter. Look elsewhere for a stay.

My family has been going here for years. It is a wonderful little place with great cabins. It's a nice reset for today's busy world.
