Black Mountain H&R Block tax pro Yolanda Smith gave me the wrong information, according to all the other accountants I've asked. She insisted that I could file April 19 or 20 without penalty even though she knew I owed money and even though we did not file for an extension.
Several days in advance, I made an appt with Yolanda on April 12, hoping to file that day, but she said she was tired from working for 12 hours straight and would do them in the morning. She did not do them in the morning, nor did she communicate with me in a timely way. She didn't know how to handle my situation and had too much of an ego to ask the advice of others and snapped at me when I suggested it. I begged Yolanda to file by the deadline on the 18th, yet she failed to do so, and now experts tell me I'll face penalties from the IRS!
Yolanda's fatigue, confusion, ego and mistakes wound up incurring multiple drives for me to H&R Block offices that totaled hours of wasted time. She completed my taxes only after the deadline and because she'd given me no reason to trust her, I left work to rush off and retrieve my forms from her and bring them to the tax pro I used last year (a 35-min drive). He easily found a major error that Yolanda made and upon correcting it, saved me over $500. She had failed to multiply my rent amount by the number of months that I rented.
I've been bringing my taxes to H&R Block for as long as I can remember and never had such a horrible experience. This debacle is apt to cause me to cease doing business with H&R Block going forward.
Yolanda caused me an incredible amount of stress and aggravation over the last 8 days and made over $500 in errors while costing me over $500 for her services.

So he can’t get help this semester for paying h and r block is a joke …. Crazy amount of money to have stuff messed up go else where save your money and time. …
