I bought backer board in there and it was 70% more than at Lowe's, and then I bought a tool that was for some reason more than what they had it listed for in the store. Guy in the back didn't really know where anything was, kind of a pain in the neck. I will not be back.

Feel really disappointed with Henson's. I wanted to support a local lumber company. Was told to talk to Jeff to get the Whole Home Package. I talked to Jeff several weeks ago and said to call a few days beforehand to get an order delivered to me. I called on Friday morning and said I needed a delivery for Tuesday, since I was going to have contractors ready to work. He said that he didn't have a moffet driver on that day. It would either be Mon, Wed, or Friday. I chose first thing Wednesday. I texted on Friday, Monday, and Tuesday for an invoice. Never received one. On Tuesday, he informs me that the moffet driver is not available. He could drive it on a flat bed for Wednesday delivery. I live in a place where some flat beds might not be able to make it all the way up this small road. I was feeling frustrated with the lack of communication. We argued on the phone today. It seemed like he hung up and then he texted me apologizing, saying that they're backed up and there are deeper things at play. I said I was still willing to deal with Henson's on these conditions, which I think would be reasonable a) some sort of significant discount b) get it delivered first thing tomorrow morning c) truck could fit on my road d) get me the invoice within a few hours. He said the truck was a 4 x 4. Wrote "Gotcha". Never got any other texts to acknowledge whether he could do those things, which I thought was super explicit. Feeling angry and frustrated. I lost building time...luckily contractors aren't billing me for lost time, but nonetheless frustrated about pushing back the framing. Going to go into Home Depot to order materials tomorrow. Wish there was way better communication.

I want to replace all the cabinets and countertop in my kitchen. I visited Henson's several times early in the summer to get a feel for the place and to see what they could offer. In mid-July, I scheduled a home visit to begin the design process. Marvin G came to my home within several days and spent two hours working with me and taking notes. He said he would have a preliminary design within a week or so. That was 6 weeks ago. I have contacted Marvin multiple times and have been put off each time - "I'll have something by the end of the week, next week, etc". I finally went to Lowe's and they came up with a wonderful design and I've ordered the cabinets from them. I always try to keep my business in the local community but finally gave up hope of ever hearing from Henson's again. I'm not sure what went wrong.
