Refused to see my pet for an emergency after being closed for the weekend. Awful service. They truly do not care about your pet, only about turning the patients over and making money. Disgusted with the way they treated me and my pet.

I have used capeside for years. I love them and their staff. Dr Hanby is very professional and go above and beyond for her clients. I would recommend their services to anyone.

Called an hour before closed on a Saturday. They could not see my dog because closing at 6. Our dog is uncomfortable. You are supposed to be our vet. Have you gotten too big for your customers and lost your compassion for animals?

I have two very special rescue dogs that are timid andaround strangers, the service we received upon our first visit was fantastic! The staff was so nice and helpful. Our dogs got along great with the doctor, we are truly grateful to have found the best Vet in Leland. Not to mention how affordable they are. :) Update: we ended up switching vets after our dog got very sick and the doctor recommended putting the dog down. After a second opinion our dog got another two years of life.

This hospital and its staff are exceptional. My husband and I took a road trip to NC to meet up with family for a long-overdue vacation. We took our 8yr old English Bulldog, Donut, with us. Everything was going great and we were all having so much fun. Maybe too much fun. On the 5th day, Donut started showing signs of distress and we called around to see what Animal Hospital would see her. We didn't know what was wrong but we knew she needed help. Capeside was the 4th place we called. They told us they were booked for the day but told us to bring her in anyway. It was 40 mins away and I'm sad to say, Donut passed in the car on the way to the hospital. We were (and still are) absolutely devastated. We called to tell them and they were so kind. They briefly explained our options over the phone and told us we could bring her in anyway. When we arrived with Donut and the rest of our family, the staff allowed us all to be in a private room with her to say goodbye. We were a wreck. That was our little baby. Dr. Winter met with us and explained that most likely, her stomach flipped. She explained things in a way we could understand and answered all of our questions. She was patient, empathetic, and so incredibly warm. She hugged me and cried with me. Even though we were total strangers, Dr. Winter was there with us in a very human, emotional way and I will never forget her for that. They cremated Donut and put her ashes in a beautiful wooden box for us, and gave us an ornament with her paw print, a beautiful card, and a sprig of Rosemary- the herb for remembrance. We will be forever grateful to Capeside, Dr. Winter, and the staff there for helping us through this incredibly difficult time.

We cannot adequately express our appreciation to Capeside Animal Hospital for their exceptional care of our dog over the past few years. All the doctors and technicians have been extremely professional and caring. It was easy to see that our Cameron always felt very comfortable with them. Unfortunately, Cameron was recently diagnosed with cancer and had to be euthanized. During this time, Dr. Christine Carmine patiently and empathetically explained the diagnosis and our limited options. We preferred to put him to sleep in his own home, so she recommended an outstanding service to do exactly that (Coastal Pet Hospice and Home Euthanasia Mobile Practice). Dr. Carmine checked on Cameron (and us) both prior to and after putting him to sleep. This above and beyond care is representative of what we and Cameron experienced with Capeside. We highly recommend them.

It seems like emergencies only happen to my pets on the weekends! I am so thankful Capeside Animal Hospital was open this past Sunday. I called before I left the house and they told me to come right in. I appreciate that full COVID procedures were in effect. My wait time was brief and my dog, Milo received excellent care. Dr. Deardorf called me on my cell phone and explained clearly what was going on and how to treat Milo. She answered all my questions and provided a treatment plan. Everyone I spoke with was positive and concerned about my dog. Thank you to everyone at Capeside Animal Hospital.

Thank you so much to Dr. Hanby and her staff. Having to put my dog to sleep was one of the toughest things I've ever had to do, but they did such an amazing job of making it as peaceful and gentle as possible. Thank you Capeside for the incredible care you gave Dot while she was with us, and your delicate touch at the end.

Not that I enjoy spending money at the vet office but this place is so friendly and really wants to find out what's wrong with your pet and they listen to your feedback also. They are reasonably priced and don't want to make you get every possible test in the world. I've been here probably 6 or 7 times and they remember my dogs name and me when I go in. I've had no problems with them even boarded my dog there also.

I was blown away by the quality of care my dog received here. This office is absolutely wonderful. Being new to the area, I was nervous about choosing a new office but came here off a friends recommendation. I brought my puggle in for a minor leg injury a few weeks ago. He's extremely high strung and was a mess in the exam room. Instead of forcing him on the exam table, the vet and her assistant got right down on the floor with him. After a very thorough exam we came up with a game plan of treating his injury. They didn't try to sell me on expensive xrays and thought conservative treatment would be fine with a follow up if he didn't improve. I then received not one, but two follow up phone calls within days after his visit to check in on him. I really can't say enough good things about this office!

Good caring vets. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience yesterday. I was 12 minutes late (believe it or not I ran out of gas), so my dog, who is overdue for rabies shot, could not be seen. Insult to injury, I could not access records for our dog that now lives with my daughter, who lives in Leland. Could not even buy her Nextgard since I didn't have my daughters permission. What? I can buy it online for both dogs just not at the vets. I'm missing something here. For 1.5 years we have taken both Dogs to Capeside. In March my daughter moved out on her own. She asked to take Bailey, the Chihuahua. We gave in and Bailey went off with our daughter. She only lives 8 minutes from us so we get our kisses and cuddles in as often as we can. Daughter is a great Dog Mom but is not very organized when it comes to keeping things like Vet Receipts. They would not let me see what she is due for, since Mom, that's me, pays for the food, vet bills, toys etc. I was told Bailey was overdue on something but would not tell me what because I don't have permission. After the fiasco with the gas, humiliation over not being able to care for Bailey at our Family's Vet I left in tears. Daughter continues to take Bailey to Capeside since it was Baileys original vet, she also takes her new dog there. Between the two of us we have 3 dogs. We babysit with my daughters gratitude and permission, but I am now shut out of her vet care. Daughter is going to vets office to take care of this whole mess. What if I was babysitting and needed to rush to vets?. I hope I never find out. Looking for new Vet for all 3 dogs.
