My wife's Jeep Renegade broke down on the highway last week, and fortunately she was able to coast it onto the off ramp and it was close to home. I immediately drove to her, tried to jump start it to no avail, and was able to push it to the nearest gas station. She elected to have it towed to TRC Automotive Repair because it's veteran owned and she had a good experience with brake work in the past that I did not have time to get to myself.
When picking up the Jeep after having a new alternator and serpentine belt installed, I commented on the high cost of the alternator. Aaron was quick to reply that they do markup the cost of parts, and I appreciated his honest no bs straight forward response to my inquiry. Being used to doing most of my own vehicle maintenance, I was just a bit shocked to the cost of paying someone to do the work these days, but as a serial entrepreneur myself I understand and appreciate a fair price for good service.
Just a few days later my wife found herself stranded on the side of the highway once again. This time she was able to restart the vehicle and drive it right back to TRC where she was met by Chris, who helped her the first time. When I told him we were lucky it broke down nearby as she was supposed to be in Raleigh all that day, he expressed concern for insuring they get to the bottom of it. Turns out that after the battery drained when the alternator died, they were unable to get any codes from the system. When test driving it, all seemed fine. This time when connecting the vehicle for diagnostics they were able to get a code for a bad camshaft sensor. Chris said there would be no cost for diagnostics or labor since it was just in, but again there was a hefty markup on the part. I can get that sensor at the local parts store for cheap and replace it in just a few minutes, but I do not own diagnostic equipment, and it was after replacement that they really impressed me and earned my future business.
After replacing the camshaft sensor Chris asked to keep the vehicle overnight to test it further. Now being made aware that my wife travels all over the Carolinas for work, they wanted to insure no future related issues. It wasn't until putting 30 miles on the vehicle both highway and local back roads, that they called to let us know all was good.
Long story short, as a DIY handyman, I'm accustomed to doing any work myself that I can to save money and insure it's done right. When I do turn to professionals for assistance, I'm willing to pay a little more to do business with people I know, like and trust. Today I'm adding TRC Automotive Repair to my short list of folks that meet that requirement. While I hope it's not anytime soon, my wife and I will be back when either of our vehicles need work that I cannot or do not have time to do myself. Thank you Aaron and Chris for being standup guys that offer great service, and show concern and respect for your customers!

Absolutely wonderful! Everyone here was incredibly helpful and friendly. The price was more than fair and everything was communicated clearly and professionally through the whole process.

I just stopped by there and nobody helped, the girl at the front desk was too busy with one of the guys just chatting, They only had a little boy playing on a tablet and a dog on the waiting room, but no one helping customers, so I just decided to go to another shop.

My husband's tire had a slow leak. I took it to Firestone and they tried to sell me on an entire new tire (the tread on the current tire is in fantastic shape). I called TRC and they told me they would look at it to see if it could be plugged. When I got there the lobby and bathrooms were very clean, staff was friendly, and there were even toys and coloring books to keep my toddler busy. The mechanic came in and told me the piece of metal they found in my tire was way too small to warrant putting a giant plug in as it wasn't even leaking! He said he would take the whole tire off and soak it. Turns out the rim was cracked (a new fire at Firestone would have been a waste of money!). They immediately called another shop that could fix it for me and confirmed they had availability. They made sure I had the contact and phone number of the new shop and sent me on my way. I was in and out and on my way in less than an hour. They didn't charge me a dime even though I asked how much labor was for pulling the tire off and checking it. Highly reccomend this shop even if you are from out of town!

I highly recommend this place! Very honest mechanic. He told me that my car was beyond repair and I needed to get a new one. He didn’t even charge me and they recommended me a dealership to go to. Thank you thank you thank you!!! Five star service and five star people ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Plus the coffee in the waiting room is a lovely addition! ☕️

It’s hard to find good mechanics that are also friendly and organized but I found them. I highly recommend TRC for service and repairs. I trust them with my two 4Runners and that says allot. If you’re a Toyota person, they have a great Toyota mechanic in house which is a plus. The customer service is excellent and Aaron will spend the time needed to make sure you have the info you need. They provide very detailed estimates with photos that allow you time to review any work needed and agreed upon.

Called for a quote for replacing power steering pump. Said they couldnt quote unless they looked at car. Price ended up being $300 over other quotes ive gotten so decided to take it elswhere and they still charged me $72 just for looking at it and telling me what i already knew needed fixing. Didnt tell me upfront there even was a diagnostic fee. Never had a mechanic do that before, not even chains like meineke who milk you for every penny. So tired of being taken advantage of by shops like this. I told the receptionsist "i wish yall wouldve told me upfront about that fee" and she responded "its 30 minutes of labor..." as if i shouldve known. i wish i made $72 in 30 minutes. Thats several hours of my labor down the drain, but i know that doesnt matter to y'all.

That’s great but y’all should’ve been transparent about the fee from the beginning, especially when you knew upfront I just wanted a quote.

I came in the get my powersteering looked at. Left the car there. Got a call back an hr later. Gave them the OK and got my car back in 2 days. They did a fantastic job. No complaints. Will come back if I ever need anything else on my car worked on.

Went there my whole life and always treated me right until currently brought my infinity there for no power steering and was told I needed a “ software update” from infinity thank god the mobile mechanic who barely speaks English re taped some wires and fixed the problem and saved me 800$
