I was looking for something to do one Saturday and happened upon Dogwood Farms and their fields of Sunflowers. If you like flowers, birds and bees this is the place. They didn’t disappoint.

My wife has been watching their social media posts and activity and really wanted to check them out. The farm is located about 20-25 minutes north of Winston, close to Walkertown. We arrived about 1:30pm on a Saturday afternoon. The parking area had a dozen or so cars. We proceeded to the covered barn and were immediately greeted by the family. The young man was friendly and efficient, we also learned that veterans receive free admission which was a welcome surprise, very nice touch! We also learned they have swag including shirts, baseball hats, stickers and decals. They were selling Colts signature honey and Carolina Gold oils made from sunflowers. They were down to their last bottle of garlic oil so they set it aside for us. We grabbed a bucket which was already equipped with cutters for us to cut our own sunflowers. The back field was where we were headed and the casual stroll back was enjoyable. There are beautiful flowering bushes and flower fields along the way and I was able to capture several cool pics with butterflies as well. The sunflower field was beautiful and we immediately began taking pictures. We commented that we should have brought the drone to capture the farm. We ended up cutting eight sunflowers to take home and arrange. Once up at the covered barn area they wrapped the sunflowers up and we selected our various swag items. Very cool local family business. We asked and they told us this is their sixth year. Support local and enjoy the beauty of Dogwood Farms.

Beautiful farm and mountain views! Awesome Sunflowers! Helpful, courteous staff! Loved the Swallowtail Butterflies! Lots of bees to make honey! Great photo ops among the golden fields, the barn with the wooden quilt designs, and the rustic sheds; also, the distant view of Pilot Mountain in the background. The farmhouse is lovely! Looking forward to returning in a week or two for Zinnias and more Sunflowers!

Well worth a visit. I'd been seeing photos of beautiful flowers on social media from Dogwood Farm so I went by and wasn't disappointed. I have never seen so many Butterflies in one place. Make sure to bring scissors and a bucket.

We paid to get, then paid for flowers, the flowers were already wilting before we pulled out. I immediately put them in a cup with water. The fields were beautiful though.

We love Dogwood farms. My child had the best time and the people there are awesome. They treat you with the most kindness and are very welcoming. Anslea made her a new friend in Chris. She told him she would see him in the fall. So I guess we will be back in the fall y'all!!

Photo spot is like no other. Rolling hills behind fields of Flowers are perfect. What a joyful experience. It is well worth the entry fee. A picture is worth a thousand words.

Beautiful and colorful farm with tons of sunflowers and different kinds of wild flowers. Children under 7 don't pay and adults pay $10. Each sunflower is $1 and a dozen of wild flowers for $12. If you go before dawn you will enjoy the sunset lighting the field.
