We saw the sign on the road to the whirrly gig park and thought we would stop in. The cost is 10.00 for an adult and 8.00 for a senior. They have a small gift shop. There is a lot of fisplays in the old doctors office across the way. Nice carrage and antique cars in carage house plus an iron lung.

The Country Doctor Museum is truly a treasure. I've driven past the sign to this place for years and finally got the opportunity to stop and visit. I wish I had been years ago... but glad I stopped today.

This is a gem of a museum! Tons of artifacts and info presented in a very digestible format through engaging docents and easily readable signs. Great curation — they feature a number of doctors from ENC (including black doctors) and have a well-balanced historical perspective. I look forward to coming back!

An excellent museum with extremely knowledgeable staff. A great example of how to turn a small collection into an informative (and fun) experience. You’ll be treated to a great tour that includes a lesson in 19th century pill manufacturing and getting to see a mid-20th century iron lung. A really fantastic way to spend an afternoon and definitely appropriate for all ages.

Annie Anderson gave our family a wonderful tour and trip into the era of the horse and buggy doctor. The tour includes an apothecary with live leaches and bloodletting displays - our kids made play dough pills. Interesting browsing the medical equipment and general oddities found in the doctor’s office. - whole family enjoyed the learning experience. One of the founders of the museum was a doctor who made house calls - great picture of her going on a house call with a sidearm.

This is a great little hidden gem. My wife and I have passed the sign on Hwy 264 many times and finally decided to stop today. We’re glad we did. They have a small guided tour that lasts about 45 min but it’s very interesting and informative. Our guide, Lizzy, was very knowledgeable, patient and friendly. You can tell she actually enjoys what she does here. We learned quite a few things we never knew about doctors and nurses from years gone by and boy have things changed. I highly recommend making a visit. They have a small gift shop available.

A worthwhile place to see. However, not open on the weekends ( you would have twice the visitors) , and if you are coming into town from the west on 264 Alt there is a long straight stretch of road with a cop hiding behind the big white sign on the left about a mile from downtown. Set your cruise control 2 under unless you want see to more of Bailey than you planned.
