2nd Generation Ocean Atlantic Rentals customer here to report that my second trip to Hatteras Island was made all the more magical by OAR! I didn't have to worry about sun shade, beach chairs, water sports equipment, or even a grill as I rented all that from them. They delivered it right to my rental cottage before I arrived and picked everything up again afterwards. No hassle on my end. This company continues to exceed my expectations and I am now a customer for life!

Scheduled to have a highchair and stroller delivered for our vacation. Communication was wonderful, items were delivered on time and picked up when we left which made it much easier for us. Most importantly the items were in amazing condition as if they were newly purchased right out of the box. We will be renting again on our next trip.

Great service and rental products. We’ve enjoyed the bikes almost 2 weeks now and today rented boogie boards for the kiddos which provided great reasonably priced fun under Avon Pier! Waves were perfect and so is OAR!!

If you need anything from a paddle board to a crib this is the place! These guys have it all and they will have recommendations on where to go. I talked to one of the workers about where to put a kayak in and she could give me several places. They deliver and pick up. Very reasonably priced, too. The workers are friendly and helpful .

Rented a high chair, crib, and beach cart for our vacation last week. Everything was great- crib was easy to set up and beach cart rolled over the sand effortlessly. We got the express delivery and the items were there waiting when we got to our beach house. Will be renting again next year!

We have rented from OAR for many years and they are beyond flexible! This past week we rented a kayak, chairs and several bikes. We wanted to keep two bikes for one more day beyond our week stay. I called to inquire and they said no problem, will pick them up tomorrow! Shannon was very helpful, polite and accommodating! The bikes were in great working order! Thank you again OAR and will see you hopefully again in October!

Cliff notes: Good service, free delivery for big orders, good amount of products available and even offer beach set up options. However most equipment is extremely worn so it might be worth your while to shop around and read reviews to weigh quality vs cost.First the good: The prices were fair, the service was responsive, and the delivery was included which is great. Overall it was a pleasant experience. The crib we rented was in good shape though we had a bit of a tough time with assembly due to one lock being a little troublesome.The not-so-good: almost everything we rented that is an outdoor or high demand item was either extremely worn or bent/dented, or both. The beach cart we rented would not stay upright. It appeared there was something bent or broken with the stand on it that keeps it up when it is not being hauled. We rented 3 oak chairs higher version and 1 aluminum. The aluminum was fine but the oak were so weathered and the finish was really bad. All the hardware was very rusty. We had to fight with one of the chairs to get it open or adjust the back. They did appear to have new fabric so I would guess they keep the frames for about 5-10 seasons and replace the fabric when it breaks or becomes too weathered. The towels we rented were all over the map in terms of quality. Beach towels were pretty consistent, some new, some old, all about the same size. Bath and hand towels were all different sizes and levels of wear. One towel even had a shredded edge. The kayak we rented had a really scraped up bottom but the paddles they gave us were awful. One paddle was bent, the other was cockeyed such that one side was about 60 degrees rotated compared to the other which means you have to concentrate on twisting the pole as you paddle from one side to the other. As we drove by the shop the rental items they had out, as well as photos on the website, looked so much better than the items we actually received. I wouldnt have expected that much of a difference but our real estate company recommended them so I did not look too hard at reviews. Next time we come down I will likely go with another outfit for comparison on quality.
