We bought a couple of things from there everything we bought was very good quality.We also took surfing lessons and they were priced good and we got up on our second wave! If you have to pick an instructor ask for mark! He was very knowledgeable and a great teach he will teach you everything there is to know about surfing!

Great shop. They stock good brands, and the staff is super friendly. We make a point to stop here and stock up when we're in town.

Good place to get souvenirs, clothes, shoes, sunglasses etc. I don't know anything about surfing but they have things for surfing.

I ordered a hat for a Christmas gift and due to the crazy time of supply chain the hat was out of stock. Kevin and team got in touch with me and made sure I found another option. He not only emailed and called me personally but sent images of other similar hat options. I can't thank Kevin and the team at Hatteras Island Boardsports enough for their amazing customer service even during a busy holiday season!!

Outstanding experience! I rented a Stand up paddle board and a sit in kayak for a week. The rental was delivered and waiting for me at my rental unit. The items were in perfect working order and were top notch, they both performed flawlessly. At the conclusion of my week rental HIB picked up the product and it couldn't have been any easier. If I ever get back to Avon, I will DEFINITELY be using the service again.I actually had stopped by their shop, it was very clean, had a great selection and a very friendly staff!THANK YOU HIB FOR YOUR PART IN MAKING A VERY MEMORABLE VACATION FOR MY WIFE AND I!!!

Great service. Kayaks waiting us when we arrived. Nice equipment. Reasonable pricing.
UPDATE: Rented again this year and the kayaks were waiting for us. Great service and equipment.

My boyfriend and I took our first surfing lesson with Mark and had an amazing experience. We learned so much about all aspects of the sport. Mark was a fantastic instructor and extremely knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

We brought 4 girls for their first swim lessons today and all four were up riding waves by the end. The guys were amazing at building up the kids and making them feel like they were on top of the world.

Great ship, perfect location across from the pier in Avon. Board was new, they gave it a nice wax and I had a great time at the pier.

Had a great experience with HIB, really good customer service, and I had a great surf lesson. Jake was super helpful and I even caught a few waves! If you're looking for a place to try out surfing for the first time, this is the place to go.

The process of renting online was simple, and the staff was very friendly when I called the store. The drop-off and pick up made things very easy for us. This was our second year in a row that we used HIB and plan to do it again next year.
