So we rent large beach houses annually for a family vacation. This year 2023 we rented Beach Music 2. Decent rental $$ for off season? We need 5 bedrooms minimum and a few with adjacent bathrooms This place had that. And it is Decent accommodations. However, for being a high income property it is lacking some basic amenities. For example, the upper floor master deck has NO outdoor seating. The 2 car garage we were expecting wasn't available. During the stay the 2nd floor, main living area, AC unit was out and blowing hot air. It was addressed in a day. The maintenance personnel showed up to change filters (heat/ac) with no notice. The washing machine is still broken. Yes we do wash our towels while on vacation. I spent an afternoon troubleshooting the machine because my things were half soaked and half dry. I had to find a laundromat. The beach access is difficult because of the dunes. This is just something that should be listed in the rental information. Public access with a boardwalk is a few houses down the street. We don't consider this a beach house. Additionally, the property was NOT freshly cleaned. It may have been cleaned a week or more prior to our arrival. Dust under beds and all baseboards. The worst is the bugs. Huge cockroach type and other both dead and alive. This is not our first beach house and we've NEVER had this issue. We did arrive early (45 minutes)which is unusual and we weren't even allowed to access the outdoor gazebo or put milk in the fridge. However, The location is good. Off season is always our favorite time of year. I'm not sure we would come back to this property but n we always return to Atlantic Beach.

Will NEVER rent from Bluewater again!! The rental property they rented to us was not as advertised. Reefs Wardrobe, our rental, was absolutely disgusting and filthy. The floors were dirty, bathrooms moldy as well as mold on the inside of the washer. And the worst part were the cockroaches! After calling Bluewater to explain everything, I got the standard “oh I’m so sorry that happened” response and no offer to move us to another rental. They offered housekeeping to which I declined since we literally spent hours cleaning it on our very first day and even stripped all the beds and washed all the bed linens. They offered to send a guy to spray for bugs and said they would call before they came out but no one ever called or showed up to spray. It was a nightmare! They only care about cashing your check. We lost nearly four thousand dollars and we’re not offered any refund at all, not so much as the cleaning fee. We left the next day when we realized they could care less about customer service. We rented an Airbnb in Ocean Isle and it was an absolute blessing from God to salvage our vacation. Save yourself money and stress and do not rent with a company that when you speak to two different agents in the office, one of which was in “guest relations” nothing is done to ensure that they live up to their end of that long rental agreement you signed. You’re on the hook but they’re not!

Will NEVER rent from Bluewater again!! The rental (Reefs Wardrobe) we rented from Bluewater was falsely advertised. We walked into a disgusting and filthy home. There was mold in the showers and all over the inside of the washing machine. The bedding had to be washed where it was visibly soiled. The floors were absolutely disgusting and we had to sweep and mop them. And the worst part were the cockroaches we killed throughout the less than 24 hours we stayed there. They never offered another rental property and only offered housekeeping (to which I declined since we ended up doing it ourselves) and they offered someone to come out and spray and said they'd call before they came and then never called. We left the very next day after realizing they were not interested in customer service or as they claim making our vacation a wonderful experience. They only care about cashing your check! We fortunately found an Airbnb down at ocean isle last min and booked it and were very pleased with the accommodations there. The host of our Airbnb was wonderful! Do not rent from Bluewater! It was by far the worst experience I've ever had with a realty company.

Ask for EJ Sledge, awesome realtor.It has been an absolute pleasure dealing with EJ. We are new to the area and have never lived anywhere on the east coast. We were extremely unfamiliar with the area in general, much less the housing market and even the new laws and regulations involved with North Carolina compared to Oregon. In addition, Down East has its own idiosyncrasies. All of these challenges were handled as smoothly as possible by EJ. He was quick to educate us every step of the way. He went the extra mile with this education and helped us understand many aspects of Down East, even going as far as sharing his local expertise to help us navigate the waterways in our new boat.Of course there are always snags when purchasing a home. There were times we had to wait for an appraiser or surveyor, but we always felt EJ was on the ball and if there was a delay it was not him causing the delay, rather he was doing everything he could to speed it up.We’ve purchased several homes in our lifetime, EJ is far and above the best Realtor that we’ve worked with. You are lucky to have him, and so were we.

I was very disappointed in this realty company. If you have issues they say they will have someone call you. They might the next day they might not call at all. We went out of our condo and did not use the key to lock unit.Came back the door was locked even though we did not lock it. The realty co said the owners could lock the door to the unit anytime they want with the pin pad on the door with a timer. We were charged $50 for someone to come let us in. Of course management was going to call and settle it but never called. There was food smeared all over the sliding glass door which I had to clean myself.The unit needed a good cleaning. In the past I have used Blue water at Emerald Isle without any issues.

Don't use this company! The property we rented for the week, called Seacluded Treehouse, sadly was not renter ready. It was apparent no one had done the inspection before we arrived. There was a pile of leaves at the front door, and yard debris on the deck and steps. Patio furniture looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a year. The grill that was listed as an amenity was not there. After a text and then a phone call, the next day, someone did come by and roll a dirty, rusted charcoal grill out of the locked owners garage. My husband tried to clean it up, but cooking grate was nothing but rust. Call to Bluewater next morning and left detailed message, but no response from them. I called again the next day, and someone said they would bring over a grill. That never happened. I had already sent them pics of nasty grill, dirty deck furniture, and yard waste by door and on deck. When I got home I sent an email and asked for some sort of compensation. I was told that the owner had been contacted and would not be giving us any compensation. We did get a discounted rate, it was preseason and bookings on the house were wide open. Supposedly, owner said because they gave us a discounted rate for the week we should not expect anything for the issues we had. I said I didn't realize we would expect lesser treatment just because we got a preseason discount. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because of location and decent interior of house. Bluewater and the homeowner obviously is not interested in repeat renters and good reviews! Look somewhere else for your vacation rental!
