Stopped at the WNC Farmer's Market while traveling through Asheville on Veteran's Day to pick up some fresh vegetables. The patriots at Coates & Sons Produce noticed my husband was a veteran and handed him an extra bag with a "thank you for your service" as we departed.Unbeknowst to those kind folks, my husband just returned a week ago from his fifteenth hostile overseas deployment, and he was very touched by the gracious gesture. ??

This place has everything! It's always clean and the people are so nice. I've never gotten bad produce from here and I'm there at least 3 times in the summer. I buy in bulk and preserve and can!

We were visiting from South Florida when we happened to spot this place. We loved it! Lots of vendors with fruits, vegetables, honey, crafts, etc. We bought peaches and apples and they were soooo delicious!! We would definitely stop here again next time we are in the area!

A wonderful place to do your shopping. We have to support our local farmers. And everyone is so nice. A must if you're in town.

Found some sweet deals on zucchini squash & heirloom tomatoes down below in the drive through garages. Also the covered building on the right after you come into the entrance lots of great vegetables and produce. There's several places that have very nice and reasonably priced gifts. It's a great fun place to go if you're local or if you're visiting!

A 'home' place, welcoming to tourists and hometown people alike. There is zero chance you won't find something to your liking. Most of the vendors have been there for years and their produce/craft offerings are top notch.

Fun little place, but many vendors have a lot of the same stuff. Love the meat vendors. The pickles were the best!

The place is great. It is a long building so you could do some walking which is a good thing. Typical farmers market seating with kind people. You can drive to the lower lot where you can pretty much drive by the produce booths and get everything much cheaper. You will likely find some items much cheaper than your hometown, but some items will be more expensive. It is worth a visit.

We really enjoyed our visit. Everyone was helpful and friendly. They have great produce and good deals on plants too! We even found a great selection of jellies, jams, and other canned goods. We're already planning to go back soon.

I was so excited to come here during our weekend getaway! There were a lot of flowers. There were some areas that were drive thru which was different. We did drive in those, but parked in the area where they had little shops to walk around. I was hoping for more areas like this, but there were a lot of different options that we didn’t have at home. I really thought it was going to be bigger than it was. There was also a cafe - we did not stop, but it was packed! After wandering around and talking to some locals, they all said that it looks really cool, but that most people who come from out of town expect it to be bigger. If you are looking for plants, this is definitely the place to go!
