I just wanted to share this as a warning to others, not as a complaint. If you have an out of state ID that is NOT a drivers license, they will not fill controlled substance prescriptions. This has never been an issue anywhere else around Asheville, so I'm not sure why it is here. But I understand there are rules that must be followed. The staff were polite about it, so I appreciate that. However, there should be something posted stating this rule so people don't waste their time waiting in line only to be denied. That also wastes the time of the pharmacy staff, so having a sign posted could help with that going forward. I'm not sure if this pharmacy is just being unreasonable or if all the others just aren't following that rule. Either way, important note to others that this is a rule that is followed at this Walgreens. Passports are accepted though! Bring it with you so you don't have to walk a mile back home to get it. Thanks to the staff for being nice about it despite the level of stress they are under from the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.

I just moved here from Florida about three weeks ago and cannot believe there are not more FIVE STAR REVIEWS for this pharmacy! They have been nothing short of professional, efficient, knowledgeable, and kind!
In all honesty, I thought I was coming to a place where southern hospitality would be at the forefront of everybody’s persona and I’ve got to say, I have NOT found it here thus far.
Our God works in mysterious ways, but perhaps this recent epic storm event is a wake up call to everyone to slow down, be kinder, clean up our world, watch out for one another and LOVE, first and foremost. Please, watch the signs.
GREAT JOB PHARMACY STAFF OF WALGREENS❣️

Awful pharmacy service. Front counter is great. We had always used walgreens for like 20 yrs where ever we went. We had a few prescriptions to fill. They lied to us on a couple. Doctor did not pull. They gave the wrong manufacturer on one and is noted, twice. Off brand digests differently and have a reaction to. They actually refused to refill any of our prescriptions after this because i called them out on the lies. It was ceisure meds. We are switching to CVS. Whenever Walgreens didn't have something, usually CVS did. Ever since 2017, walgreens in most places have been going down hill. But this one off Patton Ave in Asheville is the worst one so far.

Wow, this is rough! We’ve been going here for years and badly need to switch pharmacies! In fact, I think I’ll start making the switch today. Went to pick up our kids antibiotic last night at 8:30. Pharmacy hours were supposed to be until 9:00. It was already closed! This is 1 out of about 100 shortcomings we’ve experienced here. This stinks because the location is the most convenient for us (which is why we’ve kept going here for so many years).

The absolute worse pharmacy. They close with no notice to their customers, closed all weekend and not very pleasant to their customers. They never update you when they say they will when you call in a prescription. I'd avoid this pharmacy like the plague. Surprising that Walgreens would allow such poor service at their store.

This is the world's worst pharmacy. Avoid if at all possible. For having such an important role in the community, they're an organizational mess and are unapologetically slow. Fill your prescriptions and get your vaccines elsewhere

This is the most disorganised and rudest Pharmacy I have ever had the displeasure of using... It's worth driving the extra minutes to a different pharmacy.

Called daily for a week and waited at least ten minutes each day. Never got an answer. Called the front desk and asked to be transferred. No answer. Truly remarkable this place is in business.

Do Not Go To This Pharmacy!!! Take your business elsewhere even if it’s out of your way. The people here are always rude and they constantly get everything wrong. I’m finally done with this place. They let me know my script was ready at 5:52pm after I was there at 2pm when they told it’ll be ready in an hour. I finally get there at 5:57pm and they are closed, not to mention the rude old lady behind the counter telling me they were closed because she was too lazy to get me meds. PS this is for just the PHARMACY, everyone else that works in the store is extremely friendly and helpful :)

Worst pharmacy I've every visited. Was told my medication would be ready in thirty minutes. Came back an hour later to be told another 30 minutes to an hour. Still with a almost three hour drive home. And now I'm stuck in traffic on the the interstate. Thanks! For being in the health industry and not caring. Would give zero stars if I could

Well do not waste your time with them! They never answer the phone. I have been on the phone over a hour waiting on a answer, but then someone hangs the phone up so I know they hear it!!!! we are trying to just ask a question and that is to hard for them! why even have a phone? We cant even get them to fix it on the computer so we can get it filled. so now we got to drive all the way there and wait 30 mins for them to even fill it! why even stay open??

Don't bother for controlled meds. I've been at this pharmacy for 2 months since my insurance quit CVS. Their phone system is always broken so I have to show up at least 3 times in person to 1)reorder 2)find out my meds aren't ready- 3)stage a protest to get them filled after DAYS (at least 2-4) of waiting. Chronically understaffed & under-resourced, worse-case example of our broken health care system.

Do not go here for any vaccine. I made an appointment days ago and have been waiting in line 55 minutes past my appointment slot. Still here. The staff have signs everywhere apologizing but there clearly isn't anything being don't about the lack of staff or misinformation regarding times. There is one staff filling prescriptions and one giving vaccines. Neither is really hustling or addressing the problem but both are nice. Being short staffed sucks but just be honest. Or limit appointments more/ problem solve. All of us (10+ people waiting) could have easily gone somewhere else. There are plenty of places to choose from. There is a lady so mad about getting a prescription not being here after it was called in twice. The same thing happened to me here last month. I thought it was a fluke but Im starting to think it's them. The store is organized and clean. But never again. I got my flu shot in 10 minutes at the ingles down the road.
