I came prepared with everything for my passport appointment (student ID, SS card, birth certificate, learner’s permits from two states, a lease, a school transcript, mail, + more). The clerk only scanned a few things and didn’t include my lease, transcript, credit cards, or learner’s permits, claiming they “don’t accept those”.
I called the passport agency after, and they told me he should have scanned everything to build a secondary evidence case. I have to wait weeks longer for something that should’ve been handled in 30 seconds. Why?
I trusted this worker. This could’ve been avoided with the most basic training.
P.S. I tried calling the location ahead of time to ask questions, and the phone rang for 8 minutes before cutting off with a beep. I show up and it’s not even busy, just one guy sitting there. I genuinely don’t understand how this place is being run.

Shout out to Mario who went above and beyond helping me get my package before it was returned for having general delivery to the wrong asheville post office. He went above and beyond and saved the day!

We came here for passport services for our son. The appointments are booked out so far in advance that we decided to come during the walk-in hours, which is actually just one hour. We arrive at 8am sharp, which is when the walk-in hour starts, and immediately we were told that they were full for the day and if we want to do walk-in passport services then we need to get in line starting as early as 6:30am. Very inefficient. Understaffed. Poor communication. Very frustrating experience overall.

There were issues with my passport appointment. The telephone number listed isn't the number to this location. I wasted 30 minutes of my time waiting on hold to speak someone about the passport appointment. Somehow my appointment was cancelled without my knowledge. I understand there are issues but to not even have the willingness to try to help figure it out is just unacceptable. These folks do not seem to enjoy their jobs and I honestly can't blame them. The government needs to fix the website and the issues with the website! If you search outside of Asheville there are plenty of places to schedule a passport appointment within a reasonable amount of time.

Do not go here for a passport. Bob was absolutely not helpful and had no one else in line after me, the online format for scheduler doesn’t work. He told me to come at 6:30am to maybe get in line for an appointment but would not schedule me for anything in person even after the website failed to schedule me in the right place. He was annoyed with me the second I walked in. Please get people here who care and want to help people for the services they pay for. What a joke. Glad bob gets an early lunch today :)

Rudest ppl I’ve ever met! Wouldn’t help me figure out my issues and now they are holding my mail hostage bc I spoke up about them being rude and that’s illegal so they will be hearing from my lawyer

I really do not leaving a bad star, but USPS delivered a package in my mailbox says on 6/19/24 @ 1:09pm. My package was not in my mailbox and not delivered by our everyday mailman. On 6/20/25 No Package , but still states delivered. Last time this happened I made it to my mailbox with the regular person who delivers mail and it was in someone else's mailbox. I can only think this happened again. It is frustrating.. I left my mail carrier a note concerning this matter and maybe he can find it. Hope so. Maybe null to you , but it was important to me. 9214490357608600682138 is the number. THIS WAS NOT DELIVERED BY THE REGULAR MAIL PERSON WHO DELIVERS MAIL EVERYDAY. HE ALWAYS GETS 5 ? . 6/21/24 I LEFT A NOTE TO MY REGULAR MAILMAN AND ON FRIDAY 2 DAYS LATER HE FOUND MY PACKAGE IN ANOTHER MAILBOX. HE GETS 5 ? ?SINCE MY PACKAGE WAS FOUND MY MY REGULAR MAILMAN, I CHANGE MY RATING FROM 1 TO 4 STARS. 1 MISSING IS THE 1 I GIVE TO THE PERSON WHO PUT MY PACKAGE IN THE WRONG MAILBOX ?

I sent a package last April 11, and it still hasn't arrived, I showed up once again in person, and they don't know what happened to my package, today is April 26 and still no response. They simply tell you that you can get a refund of $100 dollars, I don't want the money, I want my package!!!! Inside I had things that money cannot buy, they were memories and important objects for my family, which are not replaceable. They can call the next station where my package was addressed and call, ask, inquire, but they don't!!!!!! Please if anyone knows what I should do, what can I do? I need help urgently!!!!!

I second the phone issue. Why do you guys have a phone number to the local branches if no one is going to answer? I have called for weeks on end about getting a money order cashedthat is $1,000 and I can't drive to every post office in Buncombe County to see if you guys have enough money. So I've called literally all of you and nobody will answer the phone to any post office branch. What is the point of having a number if none of you are going to answer?
