I have had nothing but 5 star service from Family health. Both Asheville and Candler offices from front desk, to nurses ,and lab workers.

My husband passed away and the death certificate took 6 days to just be signed! First it took 4 hours for someone to declare him dead to have him removed from my porch where he died.
We could not do a thing with his body until a Dr signed it
When finally called on 5th day we were treated with no compassion at all!
Now going on week 2 and are waiting on cremation.
No closure, not an apology at all
Yes it was a holiday weekend but they have several Drs there could not one of them sign the death certificate?
How horrible and it still won't be over for another week and that's just for cremation!
My husband was a patient there for over 32 years.

The Family Health Center stands out as one of the few medical groups in Asheville that hasn't “bowed the knee” to HCA, which is commendable. I have been a patient of Dr Rustin Adcock for 8 years now and I am very pleased with him as my physician. He's attentive and personable. The nurses, staff, and front desk are generally courteous. The referral department, especially Abby, are professional and considerate. Like so many practices, FHCA have streamlined their process to become more efficient, but they have also maintain a personal touch. I am more and more aware that healthcare today isn't as personal as it was in years past, and I've had to adjust my expectations. It is what it is.

Absolutely a negative 5! Staff are rude about any questions that you may have I called about my mom who has cancer and the First Lady who answered the phone ayleen or however you may spell it was very rude about speaking with me instead of my mom and I just took her to the doctor the second one I spoke with Maryanna hung up in my face when I tried to get a appointment with her doctor scheduled so if you have any other options go anywhere but here

I have been a patient of Dr Lederman for over 20 years and he along with the staff at this practice have always been helpful and professional. During covid it was trying but they handled things quite well. I strongly refer others to this practice.

I have been a patient at Asheville Family Health for 11 years. I am also a RN who has worked at Mission Hospital and local Skilled Nursing facilities. I can recognize good or poor healthcare. I can say with confidence that I have received very good medical care from here. Even during Covid I was tested on-site and then seen virtually. I don’t get sick often, but when I do I have been seen the same day at their respiratory infection clinic by appointment. I have never been “rushed” at an appointment and the doctor always carefully addresses the reason for my visit. When I have a blood test, the doctor always discusses the results and answers my questions. I can always get RX refills thru the “patient portal” and every email I have sent to my doctor has been answered.

Absolutely the worst practice ever. Minus stars. Rude, ignorant incompetent. The doctors are just in it for the money n don't care about their patients. After 5 years of going there Dr Midriff never even had my medical records transferred from my previous doctor.Go anywhere else.

This office is not accepting new patients. Not a review! I just don’t know where else to share this information.

Switching to another practice. This place has gone downhill tremendously since 2020. None of the doctors seem to care what you're there for and want you out asap. Several of my family members ( one of which has worked for doctors for years) have had bad experiences here in the last several months, and even says there are several doctors here who just don't care. Today I got a phone call from the doctor I just saw asking about if I had questions about the new medication he prescribed and I was not aware of any new medication! He then informed me that he called me earlier, and nobody from the practice had contacted me?? I won't give his name, but he clearly doesn't even know what he's talking about!

My billing has been wrong since at least the beginning of the year even though I have supplied all the correct information and make a payment over my copay every visit without complaint for months. When I spoke with billing office months ago I was told to “take it up with my insurance” where I uncovered I was billed towards my deductible inaccurately. At check out Kristen would not allow me to finish my sentences or questions without saying sharply saying “okay” “okay” “okay” ina high toned pitch while I was trying to sort out the issue and understand all the internal paperwork I was provided and didn’t understand, wasn’t explained. She became more and more unwilling to listen and accused me of being aggressive and said I needed to calm down even though there were other people within ear shot who could vouch I was simply trying to ascertain information. I told her I didn’t receive a bill and would like to see one and she said she would look into it. I asked her if I needed to stay for that and she sharply answered “yes you need to be here, I need to verify you address” which I already had done and was in the paperwork she handed me. I asked if someone else could assist me and she curtly said “I’m almost done”. Someone who works as a receptionist for a drs office should be equipped with the people skills it takes to listen, be courteous and find a solution in kindness rather than running over the patients who may be there to be seen for a medical condition her rigid behavior may aggravate.
