Amazing selection and the most friendly owners! I have never had the chance to really explore buying cheese outside of big chain grocery stores. The owner took the time to talk to me about what I liked, offered suggestions (with samples) and even gave us a little ice pack to keep the cheese cold for the long drive home.

Every time I go into this place, I feel so welcomed and cozy. Even if I’m just in the area I try to stop by this place. I think this visit I met the owners? They are so sweet and both vibe huge foodie vibes. They let us try a lot of different cheeses and answered a lot of questions we had about cheese itself. It was a super easy going conversation and they are both lovely people. I left with so much cheese that was so yummy!

This is our second visit and the new owners have greatly improved the place. It was a good place to cheese shop, but they added rewards for repeating customers, and we were able to sample the wares,w which always makes me buy more.

Enjoyed a local cheese charcuterie board with a couple of glasses of wine suggested by the owner, bravo to all!!! I brought home a few samples for family and some additional goodies as well. Looking forward to a return visit!

Tricky to find parking but so so worth it. Just go and you will not be sorry. The variety of what they offer makes it such a fun place and they are so knowledgeable. The wine and cheese flights are amazing.

Wow! What an incredible find in downtown Asheville! Stopped here for a quick snack to tide us over before a later dinner and might have been one of the highlights of our trip! The small interior is stocked full of cheeses, meats, wine selection, and assorted honeys, oils, crackers, and everything you'd need to make an incredible charcuterie board or even for a housewarming or hostess gift! We got the wine flight and cheese pairing for $25 per person, and the portions were decently sized for the price and there were 4 great wines to pair with each of the 4 cheeses. They included some meats, as well. It was all delicious! Will absolutely be back!

I love this gem of a shop!! The grab and go charcuterie is fantastic. They carry vegetarian (rennet free) and vegan (Dare brand). Wine selection is impressive. All the pickles, mustard, Olives, Crackers, honey, chocolates...anything that goes with CHEESE :) They will do pre-order boxes that are a must for holiday or party planning. They have a wine and cheese flight for a nice mid day nosh ❤️ While shopping, they offer a wine and cheese pairing sample in the cutest tiny real glass goblets. New owners are super nice too!!!!

My daughter and I had the best time at South Slope Cheese! We browsed, sipped on wine, sampled cheeses, bought and had a snack. So much fun! Be prepared to spend some money. But it's worth it.

Whether you just need a neck for the road, or you're hosting a big party this is the place for you! A wonderful smorgasbord of cheeses and wines to choose from! Plus special snacks to indulge in . Abby was a great help and helping me make the right choices. Wish I lived closer it would be my go to place.

A fantastic selection of cheeses, wines and other specialty foods. They carry both domestic, and foreign products. The ambiance is inviting, well laid out and super clean. The ladies provide great service, and make excellent recommendations. This is the premier cheese and wine shop in the Ashville area.
