Overpriced and nothing great.

We've gotten large pieces of art, photography, garden statues, retro furniture, vinyl records, and new and vintage items here. Mostly decent fair prices. The downside is that it's become clear that staff are hit or miss with warmness/friendliness. As my child, a young adult, noticed on the last visit, they're not smiley, welcoming, or care much about providing friendly, good customer service. Maybe they're stressed or having a rough time (personally or professionally). We wish them happiness, peace, and wellness. [Om Mani Padme Hum.]

This place is always very fun to just walk around. There are different booths set up in various styles with antiques, oddities, and fun trinkets! Love this part of Asheville

Cool place, some things really pricey, others reasonable. VERY RUDE STAFF, tho!!!!! I went on Saturday 3/9/24 and a young girl with dark shoulder length hair seemed angry...I just chalked it up to a bad day. Went back today 3/13/24 and she was there by herself...same attitude....no smile, no hello, nothing. On my way to the counter, another worker nearly ran me over rushing to the counter with items without even noticing I was there! I had to slam my feet-brakes on so he wouldn't hit me! ....When I checked out, same sour attitude from the girl. Asked to borrow a pair of scissors and she slammed them back into the container when I was done. I said, "thanks, have a nice day"...no response from her (except for slamming the scissors into their container). Some people just shouldn't be working in Customer Service if they don't like people! Makes me not want to return!

I just want to add my voice to the numerous reviews espousing the rude people working at The Screen Door. Who do they think they are? Where do they think they are? I might expect this level of snobbery and rudeness if I were in a world class city and luxury brand store - but in Asheville? at an antique store? I will not return. I've come to really appreciate the friendly, professional demeanor of the vast majority of Asheville inhabitants. There are plenty of other places I can support with my $.

This place features a variety of furniture, art pieces and household items from vintage to contemporary. Lots of books and garden decor too. I've always enjoyed wandering through the Screen Door, and I've purchased some treasures here over the years.

Saw a painting with a price of $395 a day ago. Went back today and the painting was there but the tag was missing. Took the painting to the dark haired girl at the front desk who said she would contact the vendor and get back to me via text. She did. She said in her text the painting was not for sale. I replied that I found that odd since not 24 hours ago it was for sale (and in the same exact place today without tag). This was odd enough, for sure, but only to be outdone by the chronic odd behavior that is typically exhibited by the staff which is nearly hostile when you ask a question. Have made past purchases and weathered the acerbic attitude, but will not patronize again because if I should find something to purchase it cannot be taken for granted anymore that it will actually be for sale.

One of the best antique malls I’ve ever been to. Definitely a wide variety of things to buy.

Very fun place! Lots of eclectic items. I learned about it from a local who loves to go there. Bought two items for my garden.

If you're shopping for any type of furniture, I would not make a purchase before visiting the Screen Door. They have so many great options for whatever you may be looking for- plus the staff is extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. They can help you find anything you need in this huge store!
