Best bike shop in Asheville. Took time to look at my bicycle and make some adjustments. Even went as far as to show me some ways to maintain the brakes etc. One shop I spoke with wanted to replace my brakes ?. I won't say who but they are on the same road.

Thorough and attentive mechanical service! Employees all seem to enjoy their jobs and genuinely want you back in the saddle ASAP, at a fair and transparent price.

The employees dented my car. Absolutely worst experience I've ever had. I normally wouldn't say anything about something like this. But I couldn't believe what happened. I came in looking to rent some mountain bikes with my friends, they didn't have any full suspension bikes for us. There was only one that wasn't shifting gears properly. Anyways I figured let me just rent a rack from them and get bikes somewhere else. So as they were putting on the car rack which I noticed they seemed like didn't know how to do it, they put a huge dent in my car. They played it off after I heard the loudest popping sound. I pointed it out and they LAUGHED at me after I called my father who fixes dents for living. As I'm on the phone one of the guys pulls out a knife and pops out the plastic lining on the inside of my car and pulls out a hammer to pop the dent in with the wooden part and I knew that wasn't how to fix them. As I said my dad fixes them for a living. Again they were playing it off shrugging like they didn't just dent my car. They were TOO chill about what happened. I even apologized, I APOLOGIZED... AFTER THEY DENTED MY CAR, they took off the rack and said and I quote "yeah we never recommend these type of racks" even though they didn't tell me that before they put it on my car. The owner paid for it to get fixed which is the right thing to do but his employees need some training on professionalism and maybe learn how to put bike racks on a car if that's a service that the costumer is paying for.

Went to rent mt bikes but sadly they were all rented. Mentioned that with covid their fleet was a bit aged. Recommended an alternative to get bikes though and rented us a bike rack because that place didn't have them. Super friendly and helpful staff. Seemed like a great place!

I bought a Giant and a LIV Mountain Bike as well as some other items including a Tower 3 Bicycle Tire Pump. I used the bike pump for a few months until the plastic piece that locks down on the valve broke off. I went to their location, showed them what happened, the guy smiled saying "there's only a 2 day warranty" and said he'd either find a new part or replace the whole thing. He never asked me when I bought it, never asked my name to look up if I actually had, didn't hassle me in any way. He provided excellent customer service which is all you expect in a problem situation. After a couple minutes looking around and not being able to find the a replacement part, he gave me a brand new pump. Wow, is all I can say as he certainly exceeded my expectations and I want to make sure everyone knows this kind of service needs to be rewarded by not only my ongoing loyalty but by yours as well.

Terrible experience. I had gone into the store to get a bike rack for my car. I made a reservation for the Kuat NV 2 Base. I offered to pay money down and reserve but was told the rack would be held. The store was going to build up the rack then call me upon completion. I got a call on Tuesday and they had completed building it up. I work in Black Mountain and was going to try to get over to pick it up later in the week. I call Friday only to find out the bike rack is gone, they've sold it. The most infuriating part - I had reserved an NV 2 at Liberty and put money down. I then took my name off the hold earlier this week because I didn't need the bike stand component.

I needed to replace my handlebars that were cracked from an accident and i walked in with my bike and a handlebar of the right size bought at a bike thrift store. ABC was willing to totally redo my handlebars in 24 hours (so i could keep riding). They did a great job for a great price. They also showed me a whole line of women's bikes including extra smalls that will fit me well while another bike company told me the main option was a bit big but i should buy it and they would help me. I felt very respected as a woman and a short one at that ... they had what i needed and were happy to share it.

I took my bike in for a brake repair and tune-up. It was ready when promised and repairs were reasonably priced. When they brought my all terrain, +15 yr. old bike out from back room I didn't recognize it...it looked brand new! They cleaned the entire bike all the mud off my tires! The repairs where top notch..my bike rides the best it has in many years! I love my Trek bike and each time I take in for a tune-up I start thinking it's time to stop putting money into a bike that's this old but after this tune-up (best I've ever had on this bike) I'm so happy I keep hanging on to it:) Thank you, Asheville Bike!

My first experience here was excellent. I took in a bicycle that a friend refurbished but had a brake issue. That afternoon I received a call that the bike was ready. Apparently a burr of paint was on the post where the brakes pivot. Incredible troubleshooting work. The staff is super friendly and passionate about their work and the shop looks amazing. Lots of bikes and gear. No need to look elsewhere.

I was in Asheville for a week and looked at a couple shops that rent mountain bikes. I found Asheville Bike Co. had really competitive prices and they had decent hardtails (front suspension only). Most other shops either had hybrids meant for riding on roads/smooth paths or higher priced full suspension bikes meant for the roughest terrain in the surrounding mountains. I was looking for something for beginner trails in Pisgah and the staff got me all set with a good bike in about 30 minutes. The bike rental included a helmet and they have car racks if you need that as well. They also have trail maps for the surrounding area and staff that can make suggestions for good trails based on your skill level and preferences. Thanks to Kenny and the staff for being efficient and accommodating. Will definitely come back next time I am in town. For those thinking of renting a bike for mountain biking: -cell service ends miles before you even reach the trailhead in some locations. make sure someone knows what trails you'll be riding. -the trails are generally well-marked, but the roads are not, a good map is a must, and GPS unit is a good idea.

The water here was 1000x mountain biking water, fantastic. You walk into the building and just know the quality you're going to get. The air was filled with an electric feeling that once you got this water in your camelpack, that your day could not go wrong. It did not disappoint and I would come out of my way to come back here again. Customer service was down to early and very friendly. Great prices and people, awesome place.

My review is based on a mountain bike rental experience. I emailed ahead to reserve a bike rental. I got one response, but then not others. I was worried that my reservation didn't go through, but the actual reason was because they had plenty of availability. They probably should have let me know that, but it wasn't a big deal - I called them once I was in town and they let me know that I was all set. When I arrived, it was quite easy. I filled out a basic form and paid my rental fee. While I did this, another employee fit the bike rack (rented from them as well) to my car. Once I was done, I got the bike and helmet, and was on my way. That simple. I planned on biking for one day, but they told me that I could bring the bike back any time during open hours the following day. So I biked that afternoon and then again the next day and brought the bike back 10 minutes before close on Day 2. They took the bike and helmet, took the rack off my car, and that was it - no paperwork or anything. Super simple. What else could you ask for? Their rental prices also seem to be the lowest ones in town. Possibly because they're located a bit outside of the city.
