Neon Moon is worth the 2 hour drive !
I live two hours away and I gladly take the time to go see Skip for my haircuts. She takes the time to fully understand what my goals are and what I’m looking for before she picks up her scissors.
The salon is cute, clean and comfortable. I always feel safe and well cared for when I leave.

Getting your haircut by Paige is a 5 star experience, without a doubt. They asked all the right questions and discussed my current hair along with my reference photos. I am growing my hair out post chemo and was able to discuss appointment bookings ahead of time to ensure we both were getting what we needed out of the appointment. I felt beyond comfortable, validated, and happy with the results of my appointment at Neon Moon. Highly highly recommend, and will definitely book again! I also loved the tip being included in the price of my cut.

Neon Moon is THE place to go in Asheville! I have fine curly hair and Skip is always able to give me something very low maintenance that holds up as my hair grows. I usually go in only once or twice a year. I always feel so taken care of and leave absolutely in love with my new hair.
It’s such a welcoming and beautiful space for everyone in the community!

I was so excited to have the opportunity to book with Skip while she was doing a road trip of pop-ups in my area! She is an all around wonderful person and magician when it comes to hair. We spent a good amount of time talking about my hair “journey” and she created an awesome new style. I literally walked out of the salon to a coffee shop where a complete stranger said I was gorgeous and she loved my hair! No joke! My kids think it’s “the best haircut ever”! I hope to get down to Asheville to see Skip for my future cuts even though it’s a 5 hour drive. Thank you so much Skip!

I've been seeing Skip for over a year now, after my husband got me an Appointment for my birthday last year. I've never had a haircut ever that I could just air dry and it looks like I've curled and styled it. It's honestly magic. Ever since I started getting my haircut here, I have maybe heat styled my hair three times! Also, the cuts grow out incredible. I go twice a year for a cut and that's enough for me. I wish they did do color services too as I'd love to get highlights or balayage too, but the cuts are just incredible. If you really want layers and a shaggy cut that is low maintenance that looks high maintenance this is the place!! Cannot recommend it enough also have to say Skip is just a kind and genuine person and is very easy to talk to. She cares what you want and takes the time to listen, ask questions, and just had immense patience to make sure you get the absolute perfect cut.

Anna, aka @electric_expression on instagram did an amazing job trimming up and adding layers/bangs to my naturally wavy hair.? If you’re going for a fairy shag, she’s your girl! As someone who gets a bit anxious & rarely goes to the hairdresser- I can 100% say Anna made me feel totally comfortable voicing my needs & pausing when I needed :) Hope to come back soon!

I was so happy to find Neon Moon when I moved to Asheville! The salon was recommended to me by my previous stylist in Durham, sharing that the team was exceptionally talented and incredibly kind. I could not agree more! Anna is so talented and we always have so fun catching up with her. The space is inclusive to all people and considerate of your needs as a client. I highly recommend!

What a precious gem the salon is. We are so lucky to have them here in Asheville. I had a beautiful conversation with Sarah Barnwell while she gave me a fresh spring shag. I also witnessed several moments of joy and connection between other stylists and clients.

I moved away from Asheville almost two years ago and have yet to find a stylist as intentional, gracious, supportive and loving as Skip at Neon Moon. I fell in love with myself in deeper ways after receiving my cut from Skip originally in 2021. They have created such a loving space and I can’t recommend them enough. Each stylist brings such a voice to their work. Seriously every era of this cut was flawless.

Skip was one of the first people to cut my hair when I moved to AVL and the only person I went to until I moved away. While I no longer live there, Neon Moon Salon is always one of the places I want to stop in at when I can. The values, quality and experience that Skip cultivates in her role is unparalleled. I’ve had my hair cut by two stylists at Neon Moon and they are both masters of their craft! The salon is almost 2 hours away for me but I will happily make the trip every time! Could not recommend more!
