I got a bike from MustAsheville Bikes and had an awesome experience. The owner was very helpful and knowledgeable. I returned recently for some help finishing up changing my bike tire. He fixed it in less than 5 minutes! Great service and selection!

When you walk in the door at 5:58 and the place closes at 6:00, one can expect service staff to be less than enthusiastic. But this was not the case for me: Jeff handled my need for a very last minute mountain bike rental with patience, professionalism and thoroughness. He sized a bike for me, adjusted the fit, and took the time to give it a thorough check and pre-ride servicing. He also patiently made sure I was familiar with all the controls, which were very different from my 25+-year-old bike at home. And he also served as a local guide as we talked through where we might ride. All well after closing time.
It's the kind of experience that makes a person really believe in and root for small businesses. We had a great time riding, and the bike was fantastic.

My wife and I were in the market for new bikes. We stopped in to see a few possible choices and Jeff was most helpful. They even put together a few bikes for us to try to ensure we got the sizing correct. We ended up with 2 Marin bikes. We took them on their first ride and unfortunately got a flat tire. Took it back to Jeff the next day and he repaired the tire on the spot and for no extra charge. We very much appreciate the extra attention to getting everything just right. Thanks guys!

Rented a gravel bike to explore the nearby trails at Lake Powhatan and beyond. The bike was great and it was in perfect shape. There is a great climb along "Boyd Branch Road" that will take you up about 800 feet on gravel. But at the top, you have your pick of singletrack options to get back down, and they looked fun! If only I had rented a mountain bike! (That's my suggestion to you if you want to go exploring.)

Jeff and Dave were always courteous and did their best to help me. Unfortunately, I just had too many issues with the service they provided. On multiple occasions they didn't repair something correctly and in one case they returned the bike to me with a new problem that they didn't take care of in a timely fashion. I don't have time to do a bunch of follow-ups, I expect it to be done right the first time, so I found a new shop. The 5 star rating this shop currently has definitely doesn't track with my personal experience.

I needed the cable reconnected to a "dropper" seat. There was nothing wrong with the cable. It's just that I was ignorant and pulled it all the way out of the shaft and then figured out what I had done was not a good thing. I stopped by the shop near MustAsheville and was told it was "very complicated" and "there's a lot going on in there." It would cost at least $40, and I would have to leave the bike. I left there and took it to Jeff. He took a pair of long pliers, fished the cable out of the frame, and reconnected it within 5 minutes. He didn't even want to charge me, but I made sure to give him something for his trouble. I had a similar experience with a derailleur last season and Jeff took care of that in a similar manner. He is definitely an honest, hard working, caring, guy!
