Very large selection of tarot cards. Cool tshirts of good quality. Lots of incense. Birthday cards. Keep Asheville Weird!!
After reading the other reviews I have to say I am surprised. I’ve been in the store a couple of times and had only positive chats with the owner. He’s a typical old school New Yorker, like a character out of Seinfeld. I even asked him if I could take a shirt out of the wrapper it was in to check the size and he was totally chill about it. I was there with my father in law before and they were laughing about a bunch of stuff. Maybe the guy has off days but I haven’t seen it and I wouldn’t let the other negative reviews deter you from coming to the shop.

We specifically went to Asheville to see the changing of the leaves and stop by this wonderful windchime store. I had been once before and got such a good vibe. The gentleman (owner?) was super knowledgeable, kind, and helped us find the right one. What I love about this store is that gentle playing of the windchimes is encouraged for you to find the one that resonates most with your soul. We ended up getting the Japanese and the Aquarian windchimes. They are absolutely lovely. I cannot say enough good things about these windchimes and our experience at Gaea Gifts. We will be back as we did realize we have enough space to hang the larger sets of chimes! ?

Amazing store with the best wind-chimes cards and gifts. It has a funky hippie vibe, and a really cool owner. I love this place.

My sister and I had decided not to visit this shop based on the horrible reviews some people have left about the owner. However, we got lost and ended up walking right in front of the store and decided to go in regardless. We were so glad we did. Not only this shop has the biggest selection of tarot and oracle cards we’ve ever seen, but the owner was very nice to us and we had a lovely chat. He answered our questions and conversed with us for a while. We were respectful of the store’s policies and of the owner as a person and he responded in kind. The lesson for me in this situation was to take bad reviews with a grain of salt and see for myself. Besides, respect is a two way street. We bought a couple of oracle decks (one of which I had never seen anywhere else), a lovely incense and a cool t-shirt.

The owner of the store was helpful, friendly, and conversational. Amazing selection of product, including pottery, tees, incense, greeting cards, etc.

Hahaa, the reviews for this establishment cracks me up. Energy is energy and not all mix well--the owner was awesome to us. He let us roam and I could compare the five tarot decks I had in front of me and he stated to go with my instincts and what my eyes were drawn to. I purchased two! I love them. I took my family back the next day for them to explore.

What a cool spot to buy a gift for a friend or yourself! I’ve never seen such a large variety of tarot decks in one spot. Also, some very fun t-shirts, especially Star Wars.Wind chimes are plentiful and beautiful, but out of my budget.

Reached for a tarot deck with the intent to purchase (I did not look at the binders as I knew I wanted that deck). The man behind the counter (owner?) shouted at me to not handle the decks and use the binder to look. I just left. Looking at the other reviews it seems like this rudeness isn’t uncommon. I would have bought several items if it wasn’t for this encounter - y’all’s loss.

horrible experience, went in with my siblings looking to buy something, he kicks up out 3 minutes in because "he wants us to leave". We did absolutely nothing to this man, even after he asks us if at least 1 of us is over 18 (weird?) we were completely respectful didn't even touch anything. How this man continues to run a business is beyond me.

I recently had an unfortunate experience at this store while attempting to make a last-minute purchase for a friend's birthday. According to the posted hours, the store was supposed to close at 4 pm on Sundays. I arrived at 3:30 pm, expecting to have ample time, only to find the store already closed.A handwritten note on the door read "back in 5 minutes," so I decided to wait, in the hope that I could still make my purchase. After waiting for a good 10 minutes with no one returning to open the store, I left, only to pass by again 20 minutes later and find the store still closed, with the same note on the door. The level of professionalism displayed by the store was disappointing. If there's a possibility of early closure, customers should be notified accurately, instead of being left to wait hopefully based on a misleading note. The discrepancy in the stated and actual business hours resulted in me wasting significant time, and left me unable to complete my purchase.

I NEVER leave poor reviews. The world has too much negativity to hear any of mine in addition. However, I love downtown Asheville. In my opinion, it is the heart of North Carolina. However, my best friend and I came in this afternoon and were highly disappointed with the treatment we received. We did not get so much as a hello when walking in. When she looked at the price on a deck of tarot cards, the old man behind the counter snapped at her and refused to answer any of her questions. He said he didn't want our germs to be spread around and to only touch the sample binders. You know, because no germs can be spread by everyone touching the same book of course. She then asked if she could touch them to buy them and he offered no response. Thus, no purchase was made. And we left with the knowledge that binders do not retain terms. The overall energy in here is quite odd and uncomfortable. This store is not a reflection of Asheville and should be avoided by tourists and locals alike.

I've been interested in tarot for 30 yrs and a serious collector of tarot decks for about 15 yrs now.In all my travels, I have never seen another store with the number of decks this store has. One entire wall is tarot decks. Some I have never seen nor heard of and that is rare for me.Literally hundreds of tarot decks can be found here and some that are out of print.Hands down the best place to go for tarot deck collectors.

Sassy guy running the store with a little bit of 'tude, but so long as you're considerate of shop etiquette, mindful of not being overly obnoxious (messing with wind chimes and the like), he's pretty chill. While I was there, he definitely grilled me for being unable to decide between two shirts, but there was no skin off my back. The friends I was with were doing the same, and I honestly saw his comments as more dry humor-y and playful than anything else. The t-shirts and other oddities there are super neat and unlike anything I've seen before. Great variety of Grateful Dead shirts if that's what you're looking for.TL;DR - guy with a bit of sass runs the store with some unique, hippy-ish things for sale. Definitely a place to stop by!
