I ordered a custom made futon and mattress and the quality and beauty of this futon is impressive! The woodworking is artistic and gorgeous with three types of hardwood, expertly crafted and finished. The mattress is the highest quality and is very comfortable as a sofa and a bed. What surprised me is how stable the futon is, untippable, even leaning way over the back in sofa position. A solid and artistic piece. I am extremely pleased!!Service: Custom furniture

The craftsmanship Ben has is amazing. He designed and built a desk and book case for me. And delivered. They are wonderful. It takes a little time, but if you want custom built and beautiful and strong and lasting it is with it by far.

After our lengthy search for an armoire in shops and online came up empty, we decided to see if we could get a custom build. We had some specific ideas about design features, and after communicating by email and phone and meeting with Ben at his woodworking shop, we agreed on a design as well as finishes and details. It was a very smooth, collaborative process - and the results were even better than anticipated! We’re very pleased with our one-of-a-kind armoire (and 2 bedside tables to match). My wife and I decided to remodel the interior of our home which includes a home office. We wanted the office to stand out with a signature piece of furniture and in our particular case, we wanted it to be a partners desk. It was important that the desk have a natural feel to match the Adirondack theme we already loved. Ben worked tirelessly with us to both design and eventually craft this magnificent desk. Ben is first and foremost an artisan who cares deeply about his craft. His furniture is meticulously rendered and beautiful. We bought three futons ( one for a daughter) and matching tables. Ben sketched the unique design for each, sourced wood with striking grain, and hand-crafted each piece. He keeps you advised throughout the process of creating museum quality furniture.

"Ben" has a custom futon is of a quality that's unparalleled. His delivery was on time and professional, showing my partner and myself how to use the futon. I know that in its current position in our home we'll wind up putting it where it can shown off more, considering the several types of woods he put into it, and the way it looks. Suffice to say, we will be doing business with him, in the future.

I can’t say enough about Ben!! He is an incredibly talented craftsman who has been making custom furniture in Asheville for several decades. He has such a reverence for the wood and the process. Every interaction with him was a genuine pleasure, and our home is blessed by the beautiful piece of functional art he created! Not only is the futon gorgeous, but it’s also incredibly comfortable. There are few people like Ben, and an investment in his work will become an heirloom.

Ben is an amazing craftsman. This is made of some stunning wood that he obtained from a local craftsman who ages the wood. The futon is amazingly simple in design. And he provides options for the futon mattress in great colors and memory foam material. VEry, very happy with Ben and this futon.
