Asheville is a great city to visit. However, this motel is in a dreary section. The shower reached only a luke warm temp. They charged a $60 deposit, then when I saw it wasn't leaning back on my card account, I called: they said it would be 7 to 10 days before I would be credited. I have never paid more than a $20 deposit at any Econolodge before this.

The room was run down and not very clean. It is located close to downtown but it would be a long walk. They charge a $60 refundable deposit but it took 5 days for them to credit the deposit back to my card.

Wonderful, comfortable beds and clean room. My only complaint is the WiFi doesn’t work. It would never connect on any device. However, we got a great night’s sleep. The front desk was super friendly, too.

5 star to bump up - they deserve a higher rating honestly. With a bit more attention to detail in cleaning rooms they’d have a solid 5 star affordable hotel. Very nice and accommodating front desk staff, who appeared to run the whole place. They had enough vacancy to put me in a room close to the WiFi router, fast internet, and the room was great for the price! Almost like a single suite: fridge, microwave, tv, desk, ample outlets, black out curtains.Only thing is just.. wipe all surfaces. Mop your floors. Sanitize the place. Under promise over deliver.Great stay though! I’ll honestly go back, hotels in Asheville are wicked over priced.

We booked a non-smoking room for 7 nights, but we ended up checking out a day early due to the gross conditions of the room.As shown in the photos below, the room was in horrible condition. Cigarette burns on the bedding, holes and chips in the ceiling, nicotine stains dripping on the walls, and various stains on the walls. The shower was dirty and had stains on the floor of the tub, the shower head was in bad condition, we did not use the shower during our stay due to how disgusting it was, it was gross .We were on the the second floor, the people in the room next to us were very loud and disruptive all hours of the night. There was a car playing loud and disruptive music past midnight, made it very hard to fall asleep. I could go on and on, but I think you get the idea.I would NOT recommend staying at this hotel. There are much better hotels in the area for a lot less.If I could leave zero stars I would, but I left one. Do not recommend this hotel at all.

If the option was to put no stars I would. The hosts who I assumed owned the place were a woman and man- she had no idea what she was doing and luckily I was there in time for him to come and take over. The tv and shower didn't work and the male host said "just keep changing channels and turning the knobs" and if that wasn't bad enough our Chevy Tahoe got backed into and they simply said there was a camera malfunction.

It's a dump! My room was uninhabitable and I refused to stay there. They have refused to refund my money as well. the linens were dirty, there were holes in the bathroom door, and it was overall filthy. I wasn't expecting a lot but I do expect a clean undamaged room. It you cannot provide that service you should be ashamed of yourself for not refunding a guest.

The outside of the hotel might make you uncertain of how your stay will be, but I found the rooms to be very clean. A little dated but that doesn’t bother me. The beds were very comfortable. Perfect for our needs of the weekend.

I asked for a late check out/my boss was extending me room, the manager said no problem no charge I had till 12, they charged my card for $90 without me knowing(the room was only $60 a night) and put me in the negative. Then a lady/housekeeper(I'm guessing the managers mom) came to my room at 11:30 cussing at me, yelling, threatening to throw all of my stuff in the trash. I told my boss I didn't want to stay there explained what happened and he put me in a different hotel. They are rude, they have roaches, the toilet barely flushed, and the beds were uncomfortable. All around bad experience.

Upon arrival and entering our room, we killed 8 roaches. Room was decent, but you get what you pay for I guess. If you like cockroaches this is the place for you! There was also blood smears on inside of bathroom door. I guess cleanliness was the biggest issue.

I would not recommend this location to anyone. It was beyond disgusting and the staff are NOT friendly. I ask the staff for another room because it was not cleaned properly and smelled awful. Also asked for a refund the staff was very nonchalant about my request and stated that they would not be refunding my payment. Worst experience I have had EVER!

NEVER book this and do not use Expedia for booking. This place is disgusting. It looks like what I would imagine a rent by the hour place would look. The front desk person is behind glass. The lobby is closed. The building is under construction. It should be torn down. The room was simply disgusting. It was not cleaned, the linens were stained. It had holes in the walls. I did not stay because I was afraid I would catch something or get bed bugs. They and expedia have not given me a refund yet. There are a ton of other places to stay in the area that looked much better. Keep looking!

Choice Hotels and Econo Lodge value their customers sooooo much, that after accumulating enough points for a free room, you can only use them here IF you are 80 years old AND a veteran ... they pointed out, not one, but BOTH and that I was a few years shy ... Seriously can NOT make this shit up . I'm thankful for all the veterans and respect the elderly, but how many are 80 year olds are out there using smart phones and booking hotel stays?!? Also, I had to speak to not one, but two people at the hotel because the first one didn't even speak English .

I am normally not one to leave a review, good or bad. Got up to our room and the floors was dirty, we immediately checked the beds. There was stains on the sheets, hair on the sheets, and the room absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke. Went down stairs and asked for a refund and the general manager told me he would be glad to give us another room but he could not give a refund but he would go check out the room. He came back and said “I see no problem with the room so I will not give you a refund” Went next door to the Fairfield inn and suites which ended up being cheaper and definitely recommend it.
