My wife and I bought our small cottage home in 2018 and waited 5 long years before we were done raising kids to finally move in and make it our own. The only problem we had was furnishing and decorating a whole house for the first time in our lives. I can tell you we are not interior decorators. Our previous furniture had been chosen for durability and teenage boy proofing, so we were not prepared for the overwhelming choices and lack of direction we would encounter. Until we found Chris and his support staff at Dwellings. Chris' kind, quiet demeanor and expert guidance was just what we needed. The showroom is beautiful and gave us so many ideas. The quality of the furniture was just what we were looking for, furniture that would last for years to come. Chris took time to help us chose color combinations and fabrics for our living room suit and when we changed our minds on the rug color we had chosen, he did everything in his power to make the exchange happen smoothly and painlessly. We can't speak highly enough about our experience at Dwellings. Each time we ventured out to buy additional furnishings, we always ended up coming back to Dwellings. The quality of the furniture is top notch and very competitively priced. We highly recommend Dwellings not only for their quality, but for their expertise, patience, and kindness.

Ya know ... you and yours are modern, more contemporary than most mountain Appalachia folks. Sure, you go for amazing sunrise hikes, summerswim our lakes, walk up Chimney Rock, hang over MAST GENERAL, our River Arts, galleries galore and music unstoppable! You visit and shop Asheville Home Grown everything from leather to linguine and, of course, the plethora of fabulous breweries.Here too are multiple places to find designing, building and more creative sources for that new space of yours: home, office, barn, theater, gallery, doghouse, road sign and painting over the dining table your mother-in-law will love.One our must-stop-go-to is an enormous venue called DWELLINGS.dwellingsinspired.comHonestly, if you can't find one thing in there that doesn't talk to your inner interior design, there are professionals who work there who, caringly, would love to help!

Came in to browse for lamps, couch and several decor pieces but was not greeted or asked if I needed help. 3 staff members walked by me with no word. Snobby and rude. Will take my business elsewhere.

Had something specific in mind but couldn’t articulate it - Dwellings had just what I dreamed of. A beautiful desk and sideboard. The crew was great, friendly and helpful, and followed up with phone calls after delivery and a thank you note. Such a wonderful personal touch!

I cannot say enough about Dwellings. I feel like I'm on cloud 9 the moment I step through the door! The staff is top notch; incredibly knowledgeable, kind and helpful, and possess obviously fantastic design ability. Their warehouse and delivery team is second to none. White glove service from shopping to purchasing to bringing it home. We purchased a sofa and chair-and-a-half a year ago and they have held up beautifully and absolutely make the room. I especially appreciated all of the help we had when choosing the fabrics. Chris encouraged us to go with a timeless performance fabric, and I'm so thankful we did. I love the variety in the showroom, and I always leave feeling totally inspired and excited to implement new ideas. Dwellings is an Asheville institution and I'm always genuinely grateful whenever I have the time to stop in.

Fantastic furniture shopping experience. Chris, the owner, is generous with his time and gently makes suggestions that improve your overall design. I have to be careful- I swear I find something new I “need” every time I visit. Great prices too, especially as compared to some of the other furniture stores I’ve visited in Asheville.

Chris and he crew are great! . Im excited about my new furniture. It's nice to be able to go to a place with great furniture on display and to be able to navigate the space looking, with help if you want it, and if you don't, time on your own. Dwellings team made the design+functional issues a positive experience.

Why would I drive all the way from Greensboro, NC, across the state to Asheville to buy furniture? Dwellings—that’s why. It’s so rare to find outstanding inventory, design acumen, and great customer service in one spot. My experience at Dwellings was perfect—I got the guidance and consultation I needed to find the missing pieces for my home. All at a very competitive price. And even in the age of COVID when there are often delays due to supply chain, I got my furniture in a timely fashion with frequent updates from Dwellings.

Would have bought a rug if the owner wasnt so arrogant I really like the sample (I had to buy as they didnt trust I would return it) of the rug and went back to buy it but the size wasnt perfect so I asked if I could buy it and if it didnt work I could return it and the owner rolled his eyes and walked away. I have bought MANY rugs and this was made in India which is WAY less than Morocco where I buy most of my rugs but the 1400 price tag was IMO more than the value I like VERY modern stuff and this place had more like an upscale New World Market vibe
