Just hung out with Trent for one hour as he gave suggestions and practical help on what gear to buy for rock climbing. Buying local indeed makes me also feel confident in my purchases. Would definitely recommend to any one who takes their sports seriously.

I’m can’t believe after 20 plus years of knowing Trent and the gang at Black Dome Mountain Sports, I’ve never given them a review. I think it’s partly because I want to keep them my best kept secret for anything outdoor gear related. I remember in 2005 getting geared up for a attempted A.T Thru hike. They gave me all the right advise and got me going! I completed 1,300 miles of it because of their guidance and support. It feels like family when you walk in. Nothing corporate about Black Dome. Truly an AVL staple. Don’t miss it when you come into town. We are lucky to have them supporting our community. I Heart BLK Dome!

We loved Black Dome Mountain Sports! The friendliest people work there and answer questions - great selection of bags, clothing and gear. The Cotapaxi and Offsprey collections are well stocked. There is also a sweet little shop dog named Whistle ... she'll drop her ball for you to toss it ... what a cutie.

Awesome! 2 hour turn around wax and edge, on three snowboards including one binding install! Trent is skilled and knowledgeable. Staff is friendly and helpful. Thank you!

Seemed aimed towards climbing and clothing. If that's what you're looking for, take a stop here. Friendly and helpful staff, loved whistle the dog, and they have a cheaper consignment area.
