My guess is that ownership has changed. The holdings are a shadow of the former store. The paucity of Burgundian offerings was heartbreaking. Just sad.

Great hidden gem right in downtown Asheville! I stopped by here on Christmas Eve day before heading out of town- so glad they were open, needed a last minute bubbly for myself and sweet red for my coworker's hosting the next day. I walked in around 2pm and received a friendly greeting from both guys behind the counter and spent a few minutes perusing the entire store. It's so much more spacious than it looks from the outside and is split up by regions, and in the back there is a case of wines on tap, which reminds me of one of my favorite places back in Phoenix where I first saw something like that- Winston Salem Wine Market has the same feature as well! I wish I had had time to try a few samples, but now I know about it for next time! I will absolutely return here next time I visit. I ended up finding a great chilled sparkling wine and I found a sweet red for my Christmas dinner. So glad I found this spot!

Just walked by this wine market, the sales person was so nice , the wine selection are amazing, all kinds of wine with difference tags on to clarify all the wines, it’s so helpful for people who can compare with. Another good thing is they offer free parking in such busy downtown areas.

I was visiting Asheville for a friend’s birthday weekend and wanted to get some champagne for her. We were staying downtown and needed to find a wine shop close by and we found Asheville Wine Market. The staff was super helpful and attentive. We purchased a lovely bottle of champagne and they also offered to chill it for us, since we mentioned that we were planning to have it that evening. Dogs are also welcome in the store. Which was amazing b/c we were traveling with our pup and with the weather really hot that weekend it was nice to cool off. The next day we returned to get more wine, and beverages for the lake house we were heading out to. Our friends definitely stocked up for the weekend. The selection of wines are fabulous, making it more economical to buy in town vs having wine shipped. FYI our friends were flew in from CA. Please check out the Asheville Wine market, amazing wines, wonderful service. Highly recommend!!

Store is well kept. Inventory was adequate. Staff was very pleasant to communicate with and to do business with. I would definitely recommend this wine store. Much better than the one on Charlotte Street.

I live about 40 miles from Asheville, but when I am searching for a wine to pair wit food and want to try something different, I go to Asheville Wine Market. The selection is great and the staff enjoys talking about the wine to help you with your purchase. They don't push the most expensive wine at you. I was looking for a wine to serve with garlic soup. The clerksuggested a White Bordeaux and it was perfect. Always a good experience buying wine from Asheville Wine Market.
