Tonia is amazing! I recently had a foot massage, and it was fantastic. The atmosphere was calming, and the massage was super relaxing. The therapist did a great job at relieving the tension in my feet, and I felt immediate relief from the pain I’d been experiencing. What impressed me the most was that even a week later, I still felt the benefits. It was definitely worth it, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for some relaxation and pain relief.

My wife and I found this place as a last ditch effort to help with an auto immune issue. We have now been coming here for years for help with both chronic sports related injuries and auto immune care. The care we've received from The Alternative Clinic has been life changing in the best way possible.

I’ve been going to the Alternative Clinic for almost 10 years and it’s my anchor for personal health and wellness. I’ve found incredible relief from my carpal tunnel syndrome, and been able to continue with dramatically lessened pain and avoid surgery. I am currently in full remission of my crohn’s disease because I’ve been dilligently drinking my tea prescription. I still have my other doctors, gastroenterologist, bone and joint doctors, and my favorite family doctor. However it is the gift of this singular clinic that has given me the most relief from illness and chronic issues. I’ve pursued Chinese medicine and other alternative medicines prior to finding the Alternative Clinic but did not find anything that could offer true results. I’m forever grateful that this clinic is right here in Asheville where I live and I can be treated here regularly. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a better way of holistic self care, or anyone who needs options other than surgery or medication.

Clinic is fantastic. Very professional and great atmosphere. Hannah helped me tremendously with orthopedic back muscle issues when traditional medicine had no effect.

I have been to the clinic several times in the past 2-3 months. The experience has been amazing. I am so impressed with Dr. Andrew and Dr. JulieAnne with their mastery of chinese medicine that I immediately set up appointments for my husband to get great care from them. Needless to say, the healing results have been miraculous. My husband and I will have the alternative clinic as our primary care for the rest of our lives.

The atmosphere is very relaxing and quiet and the staff are welcoming. When starting treatment, my shoulders were very tight with restricted range of motion. I had old injuries to both rotator cuffs and though I had completed PT rehab on both, over time they became restricted again. After multiple treatments from David, I have much greater range of motion and can sleep at night without pain in my shoulders. The treatment was a little painful but not intolerable and definitely worth the outcome!!! Because I am still very active, I do need a "tune up" from time to time, but I'm so pleased with the results! Highly recommend!

I worked with JulieAnn at the alternative clinic for a few years managing a chronic (mysterious) health condition. She continued to show deep care and curiosity for me the entire time, always asking new questions to seek out the source of imbalance. She's a genius with herbs and will always alter the formulas depending on what is most active in your body/symptoms. I recall JulieAnn saying "if we aren't seeing results, I'm not doing my job" which was deeply reassuring and her promise proved to be true. She has been a great asset to my healing and I highly recommend the alternative clinic.

The Alternative Clinic is the only medical facility that has helped relieve the pain of my autoimmune disease ankylosing spondylitis. Prior to this clinic I had seen 6 physical therapists, 3 chiropractors, 2 physiatrists, feldenkreis, massage, other types of acupuncture, this is the only therapy that relieves the pain long term.Not only has he helped me but I finally got my husband to see Andrew. Andrew relieved a chronic pain in his neck and shoulder that no other therapist had been able to relieve long term.

This place is truly a Godsend! I came with a family meme er with a chronic condition. We talked to the Doctors who were very attentive and listened. They made a tea and after 24 hours of drinking the tea my family member felt better. This was truly an amazing experience and what a fantastic way to heal people.

It is an honor and privilege to have access to The Alternative Clinic. I searched for years to find a doctor who could genuinely assist me in healing the underlying cause of my debilitating condition. I was struggling with psoriatic arthritis, PMS, depression, CPTSD, anxiety, and numerous other symptoms that are generally associated with an autoimmune disease. The Alternative Clinic has significantly improved management of my condition and some symptoms have completely healed!I would also like to express my sincerest gratitude for the abundant amount of educational resources that they have made available online. This is a deeply knowledgeable Chinese acupuncture and herbal clinic. There are decades of experience in this group. Andrew and Julieanne Nugent head spent decades studying under masters and are acknowledged internationally as masters themselves. They teach in person regularly in Europe. I also have experience with Daniel who is much easier to see than Andrew. I highly recommend Daniel too, highly. You can often even catch him on Saturdays!
