Locates at the Ashboro Regional Airport, this two hanger museum is a pleasure to explore. It contains planes as well as memorabilia. We arranged for a docent lead visit.but you can walk around by yourself because of excellent signage. Contains 1 large ww11 bomber and many smaller military , civilian planes, and a few drones. Hangars can get warm so dress appropriately. Tickets are required at the door but very reasonable. Enjoy 2-4 hours of aviation pleasure.

What a great aviation museum with so much to offer, not only in aircraft, but other historic aviation items!
I was most excited excited to see a beautifully restored Stearman airplane, as when my Dad was in the Navy dury WWII as an aviation mechanic, the pilots would take him up in a Stearman and teach him to fly!!
If you love planes, you will love the 1 to 2 hours you'll spend here!!

We enjoyed browsing both airplane hangers with planes. It certainly added to the experience that there were pilot uniforms, ephemera, coins from many countries in the world, and more to explore,as well. There was an area dedicated to the WWII flying ace who was, in fact, a North Carolinian. The entire exhibit is best enjoyed by older children, teens and adults. At the gift shop, small model plane enthusiasts may purchase a plane to build.
There is an airfield on the premises where you can watch planes land and takeoff . Bring a picnic lunch if you want to sit outside for awhile at the designated observation area.

Reread:::: Went today on a Tuesday the 27th of April 2021, when not open which I knew, to get use to the roads, and to see what the place looked like in person. Can't wait to get back to visit when open. Thursday through Sunday 1100-1700.
Adults are $10; students 7-17 are $5
****For a birthday weekend get away was one of two places that I went to, and no thanks to COVID for a long wait, was finally able to get a chance to enter the museum on the 31st of July 2021. Nice and friendly staff to help with any questions that you may have. Not to many planes on site, probably due to lack of space, but for what is there great history. Special thanks to Joe Noah, and friends to help get the museum going. Don't forget that on the 16th of October there will be a fly-in of planes. Check out the photos to see more. Hopefully, it will happen this year according to the young lady I spoke with.

This is a must visit for aviation enthusiasts and history buffs! You will find many airplanes, pictures and even some cars and a motorcycle in this museum. There is one airplane that kids can sit in to experience the inside of an aircraft. You will find lots of information about North Carolinians and their contributions to aviation across the globe. Enjoy!

Lots of interesting WWII artifacts and memorabilia. Easily spend 1-2 hours here learning about the piedmont and aviation. The kids found a lot of it interesting.

We stopped here on our drive back to the coast. I never knew this museum was in Asheboro. This is a great place to stop and see some history if you are traveling the area. We where able to tour the museum and still complete our road trip home. They have 2 hangars and a gift shop. My son loved it. We will definitely be stopping here again. The woman in the gift store was really nice and they have clean restrooms.

Great little museum. Yes it's kind of small, but it is absolutely loaded with all kinds of relics from the war and has so much dedicated to the people from North Carolina. If you're from here, you should definitely go, if you're not, you should do the same. There is a little Cessna that the kids can climb in and work the controls, which every kid will love. Friendly staff and along the side of the airport so if it's a pretty day, even more action is right there.

So interesting! This local museum has been well kept up by people that truly love local aviation history and local North Carolina heroes from every conflict. There are a good number of small planes to look at and you can even climb inside a few. There is a massive amount of memorabilia and papers all about these local heroes and the part that they and the country played during the different wars of the past century. It seems like a small out of the way place but it is definitely worth at least half a day to see all the amazing things housed in this local museum!

Very cool slice of aviation history! Mostly WWII and Korea War Era planes and Jeeps. We had a great time walking around both hangars and the ramp with the bomber.
