I don't know how this place doesn't have more reviews, because it's one of the cutest boutiques I've seen! It's packed full of cute gifts, and it's decently priced. The sweet clerk helping us was named Emily, who was friendly and helpful!

A great local shop with the nicest staff. Stopped in with my Granddaughter last evening to look for Christmas gift ideas. Along with lots of interesting gifts we saw a jar with little army men. Sign said take one and keep near, to remind you everyday to pray for and remember the soldiers who have and currently are serving away from home. After the clerk learned of my son in law serving overseas she put together a small bag of goodies to send to him. We will definitely go back yo support this local business!

The ladies that run this place are awesome! I ran across this shop when I was randomly working an event in the area. I fell in love with it immediately! I live about 2.5 hours away, so just stopping in isn't easy, but they are currently offering free shipping! I placed my order on Friday, it shipped on Saturday, and I received it today (the following Monday)! They even included a cute little thank you card. How's that for service! Ladies, you must stop in this shop if you are in the area!!!

The moment I walked in, I found myself giggling and smiling from ear to ear! I laughed so hard that a customer stopped me to ask what treasure I had found- they had to see what I was laughing over. ;D The Doodling Bug is the cutest little boutique filled with locally-made items. They had everything from t-shirts to pillows, hair pins to home decor. I walked away with the best smelling glycerine soap and body cream made with Honey and Sweet Tea! Definitely plan on being back the next time I visit North Carolina!

If you are out in downtown Apex, I strongly encourage you to visit the shops located on Salem Street. This is how I recently stumbled upon The Doodling Bug! It is smaller but cute and they sell locally made items. Definitely a great store to stop at if you are looking for a gift. My favorite summer item that they sell currently (as of June 2016) is an inflatable flamingo that holds your canned beer for visits to the pool!

Love this little shop in downtown Apex. Not sure how long they've been in business but I've never stopped in before. The lady working was so friendly and the store was very warm and welcoming. If you are looking for a unique local gift this place is great! They sell a small selection of ponchos, shirts, and "locally grown" NC t-shirts. They also have some baby onesies and these adorable cloth dolls that you can buy clothes for (great gift for the little ones). I loved all the screen printed pillows so cute, I'll be back for some. I purchased a top that I couldn't resist it is the softest and most comfortable shirt ever, I'm going to have to go back and buy one in every color. Big plus their prices are on point, everything in the store was decently priced. They also had a selection of vintage crocheted afghans, so cool. They have some handmade gifts as well and you will find something original for those hard to buy for friends and family. Happy to find this little shop and will keep it on my list for gift buying in the future.

Doodling is what I do when I'm in a boring meeting. Others doodle to pay attention. In both cases, some of those doodles are more creative than other doodles. I guess that's where the name "The Doodling Bug" makes sense. The Doodling Bug is a tiny shop of creative, tangible doodles by NC locals. The home decor things like hand painted signs are equal parts funny and serious; the t-shirts celebrate NC; the hand-knit hats, scarves, slippers and baby sweaters, are cute and soft. There's a limited selection of jewelry, a nice change of pace from other like stores; and the body lotions and scrubs are in not-so-common scents. The chalkboard, which I didn't see right away buried as it was amongst all the other wall art, is a nice gift for celebrating doodling -- classic style. The Doodling Bug is a good stop if finding a gift from local creative people is a gift preference for you.
