“Just moved into Apex and was looking for a local auto repair shop for my 2019 RAV4 non-hybrid. Called in before the oil change giving my car model and year and was quoted $75-85 with free tire rotation. I made an appointment since the price was similar to the dealer's price.
The shop floor was clean and organized, the staffs were nice and well dressed, and the rest area was bright and had free K-cup coffee. After checking for a few min, was informed that I had to pay extra $26 for the OW-16 synthetic required by Toyota's newer engines, which they don't stock. The service staff was nice enough to apply a $10 coupon. Anyway, I was a bit surprised since Toyota has introduced OW-16 on some models since 2018. In the end, the oil change was quick and I was out in 45 min.
I had to knock one star off due to the OW-16 synthetic oil surcharge. Pay $100 for an oil change seems to be high. However, there is an option that the customer can bring own engine oil. This might be a good shop for more complicated repair, but not for oil change on the newer Toyotas.”

“Tommy has been my “go to” Honda Acura specialist since 2017. We have four Hondas and one Acura, one car has about 80K miles, the rest have between 200K to 320K miles, and all are extremely reliable daily drivers.
Tommy will not try and sell you stuff your car doesn’t need. He has the factory training and the expertise to make sure that maintenance items are done at the right intervals, and any work performed is done correctly the first time. If he gives you advice on how to manage an issue or maintenance schedule on your specific car based upon its condition, then you can be assured it’s a very reasonable, well thought out approach. This aspect of how he runs his shop is particularly helpful with high mileage cars like mine. Many parts on Hondas and Acuras have extended life spans beyond what “the book says”, but a few parts may need closer attention.
Tommy knows these details and he will be straight up with you about them. When I pay Tommy for a job, it’s not just for the physical work that he does, it’s also for the intangible benefits of “customized care “ he provides with his expertise.
Auto mechanics aren’t cheap, but bad mechanics and service advisors are way more expensive in the long run. If you’re frustrated and unhappy with other shops & the dealerships, Toms Garage can fix that too, along with you Honda or Acura.”

“Amazing service. I was having an issue with my tire while heading to work this morning. I anxiously found a nearby tire shop. The first shop I went to didn't have the tire I needed and referred me to Black's Tire Service. The first placed warned me that I wouldn't make it far with my tire. When I got to Black's I was afraid that they wouldn't be able to accommodate me in a timely manner. Not only did they complete my service quickly they were very affordable, kind and professional. I had a great experience and will be back!”

“I took car to a place that didn’t feel comfortable looking at my car, they suggested apex tuning, I email them, they got me right in on a Saturday fixed it on that same Saturday, obviously Labor Day weekend so I was unable to get it until Tuesday, absolutely not a big deal especially since they got me right in and actually fixed my car!!! I work from home mostly and don’t have to drive often but of course my car would give me problems the week that I have to go in, they were super flexible with me about my work schedule and I am very pleased with the work and my overall experience.”

“Brought in a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 4.8L 4WD with an updated Gibson Performance exhaust I’d recently purchased. R&J fixed/saved me from two major issues:
1. The kit came with clamps to secure the pipes together. They were worthless. I bought and installed a second set (different type of clamps). Equally worthless. So exhaust and condensation was leaking from the pipe intersections.
2. The previous owner/s removed the factory exhaust hangers. So there was no way to safely secure the updated exhaust to the frame.
R&J prepped the frame and installed new exhaust hangers. They also prepped the exhaust pipes and welded them, then applied an anti-corrosive ceramic paint to protect the welds.
They were able to diagnose on Day 1, get me in the morning of Day 2, completing work the afternoon of Day 2. The cost was less than $300 (intentionally omitting the actual price).
I was very pleased with the work, timeliness, and cost.
There are some complaints about the lack of customer service. Please keep in mind, it’s a fabrication shop, not a day spa. In my experience: every single person I interacted with was professional, upfront, and courteous.
I have another truck that will need exhaust work. And I intend on taking it to them for a custom exhaust. Great job, would 1000% recommend to anyone.”
“I needed a new wheel bearing and they quoted me about half of what I’d heard everywhere else. I was able to drop it off and pick up after hours as I work the same hours they’re open. They didn’t offer any extra services I did not ask for, charged me even slightly less than the quoted amount, and I’ve had no concerns since!! Perfect solution for my tight budget.”

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and the salesman, Freddie was great, but the delivery of the vehicle could have been better. I’m finding it difficult to clean areas of the vehicle due to the location of the dirt and debris. In my opinion a new purchase should not have these issues. I wish my rating could be higher, this is the first time I’ve experienced something like this.”

“I have been bringing both my cars and motorcycles here for 5 years and will happily keep them as my inspection station. Many inspection places will not inspect motorcycles, and this place consistently has for the years I have been going here.
I have never had to provide anything other than the vehicle registration, $13.60, and then run through the lights, brakes, and blinkers as they are not as standardized as on cars. Most I have spent here is a half hour on busier mornings.”
