QUENBY AUTO CENTER IN ALBERMARLE, NC, DO NOT GO HERE, THEY ARE CROOKS… here is my experience that happened today 4/16/24.
I dropped my car off at 8am. I told the man at the desk that my battery is fine and so is the alternator, I think there’s a drain causing my battery to die. I then told him that the power windows had been malfunctioning lately and that’s the only thing that’s Ben out of the ordinary since my battery has been drained this past week. He said ok we’ll call you when we get it figured.
They called me back at 2pm and said your car is ready. I got there about 2:20. The lady hands me an invoice of $47.00. I said what was the issue? She replied
“Everything looks good, but it seems that there’s a drain and we don’t touch drains, you can take it to this other place”
I said ok so what are you charging me for?
She replied “well they checked the battery and electrical system”
I said “so they plugged it into a computer that did the battery and system is good, that’s exactly what I told you guys when I dropped it off”
Most places will do those tests for free. They take maybe 2 minutes to plug the car in and the computer tells you what’s going on.
But these crooks at Quenby Auto Center, felt the need to charge me $47.00.
When they knew they don’t look into it work on “drains”. Why didn’t they just tell me that when I dropped it off and told them it was a drain?
Because they truly are crooks. They don’t care about working class people going through the hard times that people are living with nowa days. They only care about getting money anyway they can.
I’m honestly shocked that there’s people like that in business.
I hope this post tells you about the kind of human beings at this business and saves you the trip of getting ripped off.
This story is 100% true and just facts.
Now this business could make things right by refunding me the money. If they do, I will gladly take this post down and let you all know they refunded me. But I’ll bet you they won’t. They may not even respond to this post, and if they do I’d love to see if they try to deny that 100% of what I said is true.
Let’s see what kind of Character Quenby Auto Center has, if they have any at all…

I appreciate how fast they got my van taken care of. I waited until the last minute before a road trip and was cutting it a bit too close. Runs great. Fair and honest. Will be a longtime customer.

Waste of Our time held customer engine for 2 months , Guy saw my son at tractor supply and said he couldn't do it or maybe didn't want too..Lol a sbc 383??? We took the engine to Kannapolis engine service and they had us going within 2 wks.. we were warned of the poor ability of the machinist there. This is not our 1st experience with Quimby tried to charge 2800.00 for transmission, 135.00 axle fixed the problem....Never Again

These guys are busy for a reason! Quality of service, fair pricing, communicating w/the customer... All are traits of the 'good Ole days' shop! Sad to say that some of them have lost their ways. But, this shop still prevails! And I've only been here to drop off vehicles. But I noticed the interactions while I was there!
