If I could leave less than one star I would. This salon thinks more highly of itself than it's clients. Got the worst "low lights" ever! Followed by the worst hair trim ever! And he charged $660 for the privilege of this atrocity! BEWARE. Don't rely on the pricing on his website. That's not how it has gone down for MANY of us. Google or Nextdoor them, and you may find out....hopefully before it's too late, like for the rest of us.

As far as I can tell, they are not in business anymore. I booked an appointment online, but never got any confirmation. No one answers the phone. I drove by and the building appears to be vacant. They use a service called Vagaro for booking. Not only am I disappointed that this business has my credit card information, I can't even delete my profile. As a result of this experience, I hope I don't have any work with any businesses that use Vagaro.

This is by far the best salon in Pinehurst, Aberdeen or Southern Pines. I have tried many and no one compares to Drew & Baxter at Bliss. They are attentive and help me pick colors and styles that best suite me and their skills are second to none and that’s for anywhere not just this area. This is the kind of salon you would expect to find in a big city. They’re not cheap, but if you’re looking for the best results possible this is the place to go. Worth every penny and then some, anyone who says otherwise is just a cheapskate or a Karen…Services: Braids

The absolute worst customer service, fried and chopped my hair off. Not to mention the $2000+ bill. All around I felt so uncomfortable the entire time.

Stylist, Baxter, talked as to be very knowledgeable but the end result of my hair color was not that of a professional with experience that he claimed. I had another local salon of high esteem confirm the bad color technique. The salon seemed somewhat odd. No one else in the salon and he seemed nervous and shaky. It made me wonder. When it came time to pay, he exited to the bathroom while his cohort / partner revealed the price. It was 2.5 times what I normally pay and the price they discussed on the phone was no where close. I didn’t speak up which is my personality flaw and I paid. It did take him a long time to do the color but I didn’t ask for that. I don’t have knowledge of coloring hair , so I trusted him to know. He asked if that’s how my hair was what I imagined and I said no. It was orange ! Not golden as I had requested.I tried calling the salon numerous times and no answer for days. I left a message explaining how I wanted it fixed and no return phone call. It was a total scam. And the thing is, they were likeable and I feel very taken advantage of. On top of that, I have to pay some one else to fix the problem.Lesson learned. Don’t believe the first reviews on google. Dig deeper and you will see the bad reviews. He even bragged about how the girl that created his profile was good. I think she over exaggerated his competency.I’m really disappointed.Next time , I’ll get local people’s recommendations after I move to a new areaService: Hair coloring

Price gauging! Their website says $55+ for a haircut and $130+ for full highlights. My bill was $620!!!! I have very fine short hair so there is no reason they should charge me this amount. This charge is more than double that what any high end salon would charge. I thought he was joking at first! When I refused to pay that amount, he said "you'll pay it or I'll call the police". So I told him I'd wait while he called the police. While we were waiting for the police to arrive, Baxter called me several obscenities and behaved in the most unprofessional manner I've ever seen. Ultimately, I paid a partial payment as the police stood by and they said they'd bill me for the rest. I will be taking them to small claims court just on principle alone. In addition to the price gauging and lack of professionalism, I waited 40 minutes beyond my appointment time for them to even get started and the process took more than 4 hours because they had two other customers in the salon with no other stylists. So they overbook appointments then make the client wait. Their no-show policy is horrendous as well. If you no-show they charge your credit card 300% of the already ridiculous fees. Worst salon in town, steer clear!!!

I was in Pinehurst for a family wedding. My mother and I booked updos with Baxter. It was a little bit of a wait because he takes time with the client he is working with, but wow such amazing results! Baxter was very knowledgeable, friendly, and went the extra mile to make sure we looked amazing for the wedding!

Unfortunately, this service went very, very wrong. I signed up on the website for a partial highlight and haircut. My appointment was at 7:30 PM. They were able to take me at 8:30 PM. The facility is nice and I was offered two glasses of wine, which was great (and I had a book, so the waiting wasn't bad). My hair was chest length, dirty blonde, and my last highlights were grown out (but were done at a reputable salon in town). I showed Baxter a picture of what I was looking for and explained that I wanted warm/natural highlights, easier for upkeep, and less of the brassy/light blonde I had over the summer. He said he knew exactly what I was asking for and he went to mix up color. Him and his partner foiled the front of my hair (I'd say probably 10 foils, estimating) and then "painted" the back/under the head. I was told I would process for 15 minutes and then he washed me out. The wash/head massage was great and the chair vibrates, a total plus. I'll also note that the comradery was great as well and I really enjoyed chatting with them/laughing. They blow dried/curled my hair and I went to check out. It was around 11:30-11:45 PM at this point. I bought a $43 serum. When they rang me up, they told me it would be $770 dollars. I obviously said what? and they explained it would be higher this initial time, but future appointments would not be. I felt overwhelmed, it was late, I was alone in the salon, so I tipped and paid. The total for my highlight and haircut, with the product and tip was $920 dollars. After I left, I contacted Baxter about providing an itemized receipt because I think there was an error. He was very busy and kept saying he would check the computer and get back to me, which was fine, but never did he say the total was wrong, even when I mentioned it multiple times. Baxter eventually provided the receipts (after threatening legal action), and he charged me $575 (before tip, any other services, products) for a highlight and cut. He says the website states "Corrective Color-$75+100+ per hour, consultation required" and this is what he was billing under, even though there was no discussion of an hourly rate or a consultation. While I plan to dispute the charge further (and Baxter told me not to contact him again or I'd be trespassing), I think I'll leave this open to the court of public opinion...what would you have done if you were me? Is $575 or $770 or $920 a reasonable cost for a haircut/highlight in Moore County NC? Is this a scam? Not to mention, end result picture next (which also needs a corrective treatment, ironically).

Baxter is a hair whisperer. He understands your hair and you. A totally delightful experience, I have had the joy of receiving Baxter‘s hair care for years. All ages of women have approached me over time to ask where I get my hair cut, colored and styled. My hair feels fabulous after a visit. I always enjoy his professionalism, advice and expertise. Baxter is just the best.

Okay - let me first say this; Baxter is insanely talented. I initially came to this salon for highlights (I had very dark brown hair) and he truly took his time and did everything he could to prevent damaging my hair during my appointments (which he did successfully, my hair ultimately went from dark brown to fairly light with little/no breakage or damage). He made going here a an actual experience (offering me wine or water upon entrance, UHM yes please!) He was also incredibly fun, friendly, and easy to talk to! I honestly refuse to have anyone in the sandhills area do anything further with my hair because there's absolutely no way they can compare. At the end of my appointment he gave me samples to use of amazing products in his salon and there was absolutely no pressuring/hard selling from him, which I greatly appreciated. If you want a legitimate salon experience from a talented and knowledgeable stylist, do NOT go anywhere but here. You will not regret it.
