They can be gruff, for sure. But I've never found them rude (as some people have mentioned) -- I've found them to be straightforward and direct. It's first come first serve, so you need to get there early to get your car in line, and I mean early. But they get the job done and I've always found them to be transparent about cost and work involved. I'll keep returning here when my car needs to be fixed up.

In a world where you don’t have to look very far to justify ones cynicism, it’s a remarkably refreshing and uplifting experience when dealing with individuals that, time and again, exhibit the highest levels of character and integrity. It is with this in mind that I want to share with you my experience dealing with the good people at Harry Summers garage.
Information asymmetry is a situation where one party has more or better information than another. The perfect example of this is when I’m forced to have a conversation about the workings of an engine or any mechanical issue at a garage. I know next to nothing and I make no effort in trying to disguise this shortcoming. It would be very easy for an unscrupulous mechanic to take advantage of my ignorance.
Several years ago I needed some work done and I was fortunate enough to be referred to Harry summer garage. To say that I have been satisfied with the service provided would be a major understatement. They identify and fix problems in a timely and efficient manner. They have gone above and beyond explaining what was needed, and more importantly, what was not necessary. I am 100% certain that I have never been overcharged a single dime over the course of my visits and certain they have never fixed a problem that didn’t exist to grab a couple of easy bucks. Their honesty has be impeccable.
In closing, I would recommend Harry Summers garage to anyone who is seeking a similar experience, and I would like to thank these gentlemen for their honesty

Went in to get a vehicle inspected and when doing so he gave us a quote on MULTIPLE things that needed to be fixed which was in the thousands... decided to get a second opinion and low and behold not only was he's literally robbing us blind but there were MULTIPLE things on his list that were working perfectly that didn't need to be done. Brought it to another garage and it passed inspection for less than 500... went from just under 3000$ to under $500.. he lied about what had to be done AND overcharged us on every. Single. Piece.

Edited*It's past it's prime days, they take cash only. Decades into a trade that's relentless and will take a toll on you, this place shows that clearly from the moment you step in.The shop is horribly dirty too, like you don't care about your work/workplace kind of dirty.Work on cars too, I understand it gets messy really quickly and you'd have to be wearing clothes you don't care about but as a professional in the trade that doesn't look good on a business.

Very rude. I described my situation and asked how soon I could get my car looked at and was answered as if I insulted him. I’m not sure how business can be conducted without questions being asked. Judging by previous reviews, it looks like I’m not the only one who was treated in such manner.

They are super rude and speak very condescending to customers over the phone and in person. Not a place I’d recommend in any way. For years in business they just take cash only is ridiculous but still charge taxes (yeah right) making customers scour around for money without their cars and still hold same prices as other garage if not higher

Still hurt about paying $700 for strut and wheel bearing. I told them the ISSUE was the brakes. The calipers were sticking & I TOLD THEM THAT. Paid 700 bucks for nothing. EXTREMELY UPSET. This was months ago, but I still think about it some days. Car was a Honda CRV. Went to another shop in town, and they did it in no time. I guess all they need is 1 customer a day to rip off and make money off of & they are good for the day ?Service: Steering & suspension repair

- Paid over a 1000$ for a hand break + parts (4 hours labor claimed for such minimal job).- Parking brake replaced but not adjusted as the rotor was still rotating (which could’ve been avoided by a simple test).- Weird garage structure as there’s no area for customers to be welcomed inside.Overall, per my own experience, disappointed and would never recommend to anyone.

Only good if you know them personally. Waited outside in freezing weather, & they don't seem to care about the customers. Horrible Customer service. Didn't even fix the right issue.Services: Auto brake repair
