A friend of mine had a terrible experience at this Hertz location. When he arrived, the rep told him to leave the room while helping another customer. When my friend was finally called in, he was asked irrelevant questions like, "What are you going to do with the car?"
Then, his Amex card—one he’s used thousands of times—was rejected because the chip "didn't read." He tried using a debit card, but the rep refused without explanation. The card worked fine right after he left. It felt discriminatory, and looking at the reviews, this isn’t the first complaint about this person. Hertz needs to address this immediately.

I had an absolutely horrendous experience at this Hertz location. When I arrived, I saw the representative assisting another customer, and instead of politely asking me to wait, he actually told me to leave the room! I complied and waited outside until he finally called me in. I had already booked the car I wanted, so it should have been a simple process of picking it up. However, the representative started asking invasive questions like, "What are you going to do with the car?" which is completely irrelevant and none of his business.
Things only got worse from there. When it came time to pay, I handed over my American Express card—a globally recognized credit card that I use regularly without any issues. But, for some reason, it got rejected because the chip allegedly "did not read." I've used this card thousands of times without any problems, yet somehow this was my fault? Trying to remain calm, I called the bank, and they replaced the card. I then attempted to use my debit card, thinking it would solve the issue, but the representative refused to accept it, giving no reason why.
To make matters worse, I left the location and immediately used the same credit card elsewhere, and guess what? It worked perfectly. I can't shake the feeling that there was something discriminatory in how I was treated. I felt disrespected, humiliated, and entirely dissatisfied with the service.
After checking reviews, I see numerous complaints about the same person at this location. It's beyond time for Hertz to take action and consider replacing this representative!!!!.
My experience was unacceptable, and I won't be returning to this location again.

The young men that work at this location does not seem to know what they are doing I had a rental reserved through my Insurance company and they charged my account the full amount stating the Ins co. denied the claim constantly trying to call them no one answers the phone. This is horrible for a known Rental Car company I will not do business with them anymore

The office is tiny and a little hard to find. The lot for the cars is a 2 block walk one way. But, the two young men who manned this location were professional, efficient and damned nice! They deserve a raise!!!

Booked a car for 12noon Monday and was help as soon as I walked in the door…. Very warm and welcoming as well as helpful customer reps… Best Customer Service guidance as they went above and beyond to get my reservation completed locate a car better suited for me and also provided a last minute voucher for service of the vehicle at a local partner service center!!!!!
Herts keep up the great work guys and thank you a million for the help ???? , my new favorite location / as I will most definitely be renting with herts of Yonkers again / you guy ROCK see you in the future!!!!

The worse costumer service ever !
They have cars but the guy said he will not rent them cuz I ran late to my reservation but when I’m on time and you got over booked I have to wait for you for hours on my previous experiences with hertz but you cannot wait fo me a few and will cancel my reservation just because of it.
Also when I tried to call to mention I was running late nobody answered the phone.
This guy at the counter needs to be a bit more professional. Cuz the reality is that I’m paying for a service and he is not doing me any favor !
And no going to lie I feel a homophobic vibe on the way he talked to me in compare the way he was talking to the other guys.

I recently rented a car from this location and had an exceptional experience! The process was seamless from start to finish. The staff was friendly, efficient, and helpful. The car was clean, well-maintained, and exactly what I needed for my trip. The rates were competitive, and the additional features (such as ez pass and insurance) were clearly explained and reasonably priced.
What really impressed me was the attention to detail and the customer service. The team went above and beyond to ensure I had a great experience. and the return process was just as smooth.
I would highly recommend this Yonkers location to anyone looking for a reliable and stress-free car rental experience. Five stars and looking forward to my next rental with them!

I went just today and I need. SUV waiting 11:20 am they said okay we Got it they said they need credit card I say Apple pay they no only my credit card no debt or Apple Pay it’s fine I tell him that I need to go to my house get it’s 2 blocks he said ok then I went to get it come back big line and I tell I need to leave he NO SUVS I TELL HIM WHY I JUST HERE HOW FAST ITS WENT AWAY NOW U WASTE MY TIME to 2:30 pm . I stayed 4 hrs for goting. DONT WASTE MY TIME THE BLACK GUY WITH THE BREAD LOCKS leave outside when it’s ready I will update to u you I said do u have suv he said no so if I stay here this would happen to u out there LIEING the all the time

Ever since Hertz closed many locations, the Yonkers location has been clobbered with an overflow of people looking to pickup/drop off a rental. And with only, at most times, 1 rep that means long wait time. For 1 person to hold it all down, provide excellent service is a daunting and unrealistic task. However, they have been exemplary! It isn't the reps fault for not having more staff to help. They do the best they can with what they have. The public needs to demonstrate a bit of understanding and patience. Make your complaints to corporate, to the decision makers. Yes waiting longer than expected is a pain but under the circumstances, one needs to understand. Hertz! Get these guys help ASAP!!!

Came for maintenance on a hertz rental. Was told that they’ll put the voucher through and call me in a few hours. 3 days later no such call was made. I had to show up unexpectedly. Supposed to be tires changed, oil change, computer diagnostic etc…if you don’t watch they will only change 1 or 2 tires, rotate the newer looking ones, put them back on and charge hertz’s account for FULL maintenance. I confronted the manager of the establishment and he goes speaks to the mechanics (plural) and comes back to tell me that 1 tire was “short” he’ll order another one and I can come back tomorrow. I rent the car from hertz through Uber to work. I don’t have time to keep coming back here. They used my tire for someone else and if I’m not watching they’ll give me the car back and not tell me 1 tire was “short” lmao shady place. Most “mechanics” are.

This is an update to my previous Review I still have not received my $200 deposit and it’s been almost a month since I returned the car!!!! Ridiculous I called Hertz billing and they say “contract wasn’t close out correctly” I even went to the location today waste of gas and to my suppose no help or assistance just a simple shrug of the shoulders stay away from this placeWay too slow small location so if you are in a rush avoid this placeAfter the jumping through hoops from Hertz automated system, They don’t answer the phone people are coming in to physically to extend their rentals ,they still work in stone ages
