I've been going here on and off for the last 13 years. I like to support neighborhood businesses, but it is time to be off again. Really unpleasant experience to have Irish and Albanian immigrants talking about how gross they find homeless people and how "dangerous" NYC is for over half an hour. They woman cutting my hair was looking at her co-worker and not paying attending to what she was doing while doing it. When someone is completely silent, you are likely making them uncomfortable. Whether you pay attention and care about that is up to you. Added: They did not do a good job. My hair is slightly uneven, and she cut very high layers in the black, despite my saying I didn't want layers.Service: Haircut

Stela is a fantastic colorist and hairstylist. She listens intently to what you want and offers suggestions to complement her clients' features. The salon is spotless and clean, and the staff are amazing.

Extremely disappointed in this salon. I called in the morning asking for an appointment because I wanted a haircut. The woman on the phone said they could give me a 2:15 appointment. I was excited since this place has good reviews and I was able to get a same day appointment. I get there at 2:10 and sat down waiting to be seen. I wasn't seen until 2:50. 35 minutes after the scheduled appointment.I asked for layers and side swept bangs. She starts to cut my hair and then 5 minutes after says that we're done. I ask, where are the layers and she says they're in the back. I stated that I wanted layers all around. She says that she didn't cut it shorter because it wouldn't look right when the hair is curly. Even though I specifically stated that I style my hair straight. And my "bangs" were maybe half an inch shorter than the rest of my hair which isn't bangs. The only thing that was done that I asked for was the trim to make my hair even. That's it. They completely ignored what I asked for and because it took them so long to see me I couldn't even argue. I get a wash and blowout. Stella runs a very orderly salon. I make an appointment and I am always seen at my appointment time, and I am done within an hour or so. The stylists and other staff is very professional but still friendly.

This is the absolute worst salon I've ever been to. My hair is uneven and was thinned out so much it is still falling out. i cried for 3 hours after I left. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. I have never been so upset over my hair in my life.

I got full color and a cut from Halo. After about 2 weeks I had grey hair back. It was as if I never got color done. I emailed the salon and got no response. One would think after $170 the color would last. I’m better off getting a box of color , it would last longer..Service: Haircut
