A gem of a upscale thrift store. Brought my two young nieces and we left with an entire bag of clothes for the equivalent of what I would have paid for maybe 2-3 items at a retail store. A perfect stop for a fun afternoon! The staff were very friendly!

Castaways is a fantastic little shop. The owner, Renee, is a warm, welcoming and wonderful soul that took her time to go through the items I brought to the store for her to buy and when she was done, I walked away very happy. It’s an absolute privilege to do business with someone who knows exactly what she wants to make the store move. Hats off to Castaways.

Left with nothing. Many modern day pieces and way too expensive. Saw quite a few Target brand pieces at almost retail price.

Great experience. A large collection of quality items at reasonable prices. I bought a beautiful maroon sweater, 100% wool, made in England, that I'm wearing right now.

I am a long-time customer at Castaways. I've always enjoyed the environment, the noninvasive yet helpful nature of the staff, as well as the selection of clothing and jewelry. Normally I would give the store five stars. However, my most recent experience shopping there was less than pleasant. In fact, it was notably strange. Upon entering the store my friends and I were greeted by an employee that I had never seen before. She gave us a rundown of the store while we were looking around and I politely told her that we had been there before and didn't need to be told where and what things were. That was excusable. However, the experience got stranger. I was looking through a box and found a loose pair of pantyhose that I was thinking about purchasing. The employee entered the other room where my friends and I were Coincidentally, I picked up my bag and the pantyhose and went over to another section at the same time she was entering. In doing that I think I may have set off a shoplifting alarm in her head. Without asking, she picked up the pantyhose next to my bag and told us that she was going to put them up front. I protested because I wasn't sure if I wanted her to do that. She proceeded to tell me in somewhat of a scolding tone that she was going to bring them up front (regardless of my protests) and that they should have been left in their packaging (there was no packaging). After this encounter, she kept her eye on us consistently. I tried on two dresses and she interrupted my conversation to ask me a question about the dress I had on. She also asked loudly if anyone was in the dressing room as I was clearly changing in there. I found this whole experience strange and frankly invasive. I also felt singled out because of some unfounded (and obvious) suspicion. I do enjoy Castaways and I have been a long-time patron. However, I am reluctant to go in the store again because I would not like to have another encounter like the one I had today.

I took a ton of clothes there for consignment. I have NEVER met a ruder person than whoever the woman with the long brunette hair is. She wasn't 1/4 of the way through my clothes before I wanted to call her the B word and leave. Insulting, rude, offers nearly nothing for good clothing and then marks them up by at least 3X from what I've heard. Don't even BOTHER trying to bring her anything; she doesn't deserve to make money. My God, what a nasty woman!!!! Never again!!!!

They have a really lovely selection but some items in comparison to other thrift stores in the area were slightly overpriced (i.e $10 difference on an almost identical sweater down the road). There was also an H&M pair of pants I had originally purchased at H&M for $15 and they were selling them for $26! I also wish they had a restroom for customers who have spent a long time in their store shopping.
