“I walked in this morning because I wanted some original Hog head cheese from my youth at my grandparents house on Johns Island, Charleston, SC. I walked in and realized that this place reminded me of my grandparents juke joint. I was besides myself. Anything from slab bacon, to the bologna, to bbq'd pulled pork, the Country Store has it. The hospitality of Shawna was very nice. She welcomed us and made me feel at home. If you're from the South and looking for items that remind you of your childhood. Run, don't walk to the Country Store!”

“Lily's Vegan Pantry is a jackpot for frozen vegan goodies at fair prices. They've got a solid range of vegan meats that can jazz up your plant-based cooking game. Plus, the staff here is nice and quick to help you out. I splurged on the vegan oxtail for $13, and let's just say it wasn't my thing. Ended up tossing the whole thing. Also grabbed a couple of onigiris at $5 a pop, but they were seriously lacking in the veggie meat department - felt like munching on plain rice balls. On the flip side, their beef jerky was a flavor bomb, totally worth snagging. Lily's Vegan Pantry is a go-to spot for stocking up on vegan cooking essentials without burning a hole in your pocket. Just skip the ready made items.”

“This Trade Fair is a must-visit, for it offers a sublime encounter with the Truly Real. Many urban grocery stores encode in their architectural footprints the story of their expansion over many decades, with their trap doors and secret lentil alcoves, their curt aisles offset from one another at strange angles, their produce sections pinched off on their own by evidently load-bearing walls.Nah, but this one is on the next level. I walked along a dairy case for four days, and at the end I met myself about to set out on the journey (as well as the chocolate pudding I had been seeking). I think it's laid out according to John Dee's schematic of the Garden of Eden or something, but whatever they did the twists and turns and range of available commodities reproduce the entire universe in microcosm.
