I've always wanted to see the bluffs and I was not disappointed, the bluffs are so majestic, and the lake in the background, I must have took a million pictures!

Nice state park along Lake Ontario. The Chimney Bluffs are amazing. Multiple trails - out and back and a loop, beach or forest. Worth the stop if you are passing by.
Restrooms: Typical state park restrioms.

Arrived on a cheerfully sunny day. Began at the top of the trails and descended to the beachfront. Once there the weather turned and it began pouring. Narrowly escaped the torrential downpour without being sucked into the water. The rain slicked the slopes of the bluff and the sand and walking path of the shoreline rapidly turned to thick sticky mud as the waves crashed to our feet, ankles, and knees at the shore. If you’re aware of ANY possibility of rain do NOT walk the beachfront. My friends and I fought to escape the fate of becoming a tragic news headline. Climbing dwindling slopes, navigating holes, and scaling collapsed trees as the pathway was useless and overwhelmed with water. We were the only ones stupid enough to be down there at the time. Do not take the risk. Please use caution when warranted. Stick to the hiking paths and watch the beach from afar. During the sun it was pleasant and appeared to be a popular destination. 4 stars as it’s not the property’s fault we stupidly decided to walk the shore line of an eroding shore and the rain did clear in about an hour. It is beautiful in safe conditions. But please do not be so callous as to put yourself in such a dangerous situation. We escaped but mentally have unlocked a new and profound fear. If the view of the sky is like the first picture then go enjoy the water. If that view starts changing to the second picture it’s time to turn around and start the trek back. Be warned!

Loved this park, short hike down to the water. Looking up at the bluffs, it seems otherworldly. People were swimming, picnicing, just wandering around - Lake Ontario is so huge - great to see right here in NY State.

Definitely worth a stop. We enjoyed the hike to the top and down to the beach. 1 hr drive from Syracuse and spent a couple hours here.

The beach is nice with good accessibility, surprised by the amount of trash, people need to do a better job in leaving it better than they found it.
Playground: Decent playground and it's fenced in for security/safety.
Restrooms: Plenty of access to the restrooms
Dog-friendliness: Didn't see a sign that dogs were allowed on the beach, but likely okay as long as they are leashed.
Picnic area: There are picnic tables in the shade.

The bluffs are gorgeous in the early morning light, but the walk to the bluffs is just as lovely. All the birdsong and little woodland critters made for a serene, soul-restoring experience. (Didn't hurt that I was the first one there on the day I visited!)
