We just purchased a bearded dragon from Dutchess Exotics and I can’t say enough good things about the experience. It is our first lizard, and so we have much to learn—more than anything we want to be sure we are providing a healthy environment. John was glad to share of his extensive experience. My wife and I both left feeling like we had avoided many pitfalls that we would have blindly walked into had we gone the ‘big box pet store’ route instead.The store itself is also an experience: it is a small shop, packed wall to wall and floor to ceiling with fish, lizards, snakes, birds, spiders, and who knows what else. It may not be Big Box Pet Store pretty inside, but the animals are healthy and John is an expert and willing teacher.I would emphatically recommend Dutchess Exotics.

All I can say is John knows his stuff. My wife and son started buying crickets and other feeders for our bearded dragon. He's friendly, helpful and kind. He has helped our family with all our many many questions. No problems here. Always enjoy seeing john and just chatting.Thanks for what you do John.??????????

I would like to issue a simple warning to anyone looking to purchase and communicate with John. A few weeks ago I contacted John about the purchase of a crested gecko and he told me that he didn't have what I was looking for which is not a problem. The problem rose later on in our conversation when, with little perceived purpose, he continually berated me and my responses to his questions. Again, the problem was not the information he was giving, it was the method in which he was giving it. This encounter alone kept me from purchasing from him and i left with a sour taste in my mouth due to his rudeness. I wasn't going to say anything until today k received more texts from him, weeks after the fact, further telling me that "everything u was doing was somehow wrong". Again, i cannot say if his accusations were correct or not i just want to let those looking to have relations with John that this is something you may encounter, even unprovoked with no returned rudeness. Still, John, who will undoubtedly respond tho this review with might about my lack of knowledge and poor care, though debatable in it's validity, i thank you for your advice and time as I was able to take good points from it. Thank you for your help.Edit post reply: Again, I say that I have no problem with the information. Im sure you are right in many ways you were just extremely combative and rude as I had previously noted. I didn't dislike the information, i disliked the way in which you communicated it. Again, thank you for your time.

Horrible customer service. The store has its hours posted online and on the door but the owner thinks they are suggestions.Edit: edited because I can’t reply to your reply, but we all have busy days and I plan my day around going to a store that is conveniently open at night and also a family owned business that i’d like to support instead of petco. But there has been 3 or 4 times excluding last night that I’ve come to the store and no one is there, I’ve never been to a store before where I should call first to make sure you’re open during business hours. But I’m well aware that u don’t follow your hours, so when I showed up at 9:40 (20 minutes before closing) yes I saw the lights off, but I assumed u we’re getting ready to leave early because “hours vary” so I tried to catch u before you left. But to my surprise, u said u showed up 5 minutes ago (25 minutes before closing) so did u even open the store at all yesterday? Thank god I didn’t come when u were supposed to open at 8:30 cause I would have been disappointed once again. Do you run a business out of your garage or do you have a storefront open to the public? Maybe get some help if you’re overwhelmed. I’m not telling you how to run your business but I’m telling people to not waste their time and money here

I would like you to explain why you assumed that the review above from an entirely different 'Frankie's Aquatics' was left from me, when infact it absolutely was not me. Then rather than come and have as civilised conversation with me, and make sure you had your facts correct, you leave me 1 star review, and a rather snotty message? And you have the cheek to tell me to "grow up dude?"You might wish to reconsider the review you've left, and check your facts before doing such practices in future.
