Although 5-years have passed since my review and the Cat Hospital seems to have removed their Yelp page, for anyone who may stumble upon this, I wanted to clarify that the specific veterinarian in the practice who gave my sweet 20-year-old cat Coco the most horrific final life experience--a completely inhumane, distressing, and rushed/botched euthanasia procedure: with no sedative, no time for soothing parting words, no cushion or blanket to rest on or preserve her dignity as she peed herself on the hard cold exam table when she was scared and pained, nothing short of torture for my Coco--was Dr. Robin Sturtz. The horrible, negligent service was performed by Dr. Sturtz and her vet technician. My review does not pertain to either Drs. Bregman. I very recently found and read an article published by LIU where Dr. Sturtz speaks about the importance of a dignified and humane euthanasia process. Animal owners beware, it's been over five-years since my horrific experience and I am still traumatized by the procedure administered by Dr. Sturtz and guilt ridden that I could not give my cat the peaceful, dignified and safe final rite she so deserved. I will forever blame myself for not speaking up in the moment and stopping the vet and the procedure when my gut told me what was happening wasn't medically right. Nothing she did came close to the caring and gentle euthanasia procedure VCA Westbury Animal Hospital performed a year earlier for our 19 year-old cat Rosie, where they gave my family and I a private room to say goodbye and hold her while they carefully administered a sedative and then final shot into an IV line all while she was swaddled in a blanket I held her in the entire time.
