My absolute favorite consignment shop for clothing and accessories! Last visit I set a budget for $120 and I only went over by $1. All my purchases were new with tags: Talbot's Petite Jeans, J Jill cotton sweater (retail $109), Madewell Peasant Top (retail $79), Kashmere cotton/cashmere sweater, Sketchers Air Cooled Sneakers and Bandolino Suede Loafers...all for $121!! It was a Saturday, so the owner was there and I showed her everything as I tried it on...she was amazing as she carefully and patiently made sure each piece fit me from the back and sides as well as the front...it was an awesome experience to have her expert guidance. Now, I can't wait to go back to shop for my summer wardrobe. Highly recommend this shop which is actually more like a designer boutique at affordable prices. Lots of cool accessories too!

I went in there to inquire about possibly consigning a prom gown. As soon as I mentioned prom gown, the woman at the counter who appeared to be the owner, immediately got a scowl on her face and exclaimed "No prom gowns. NO prom gowns!! They don't sell and we don't accept them!" It was said in such a rude, abrupt fashion that I felt like I was a child being scolded in school!! All she had to say was "I'm sorry, we don't accept those anymore because we have a hard time selling them. Maybe you can try somewhere else? " And I would have understood. This one experience makes me never want to go back there. However, I suppose people can have a bad day or a bad moment. Perhaps they can place a sign in the window of things they DON'T accept which could help avoid such an unpleasant interaction.

I for one like this place. Lisa has always been welcoming especially her aunt over the weekends. The quality of clothing is much better than other consignment stores and some of them are brand new, which is a nice perk. You can also get lots of designer wear for a great price.

I've been consigning with the Peddler for decades.The original owner (Lisa's mother) was a pleasure to work with, Lisa not so much. Last fall was the last straw. I checked with Lisa at the end of the summer to see when she wanted clothes - she told me October 1st. When I called ahead (mistake) she told me she too loaded up with clothes from her "regulars" to even look at what I had (which was a brand new, brand name storm coat that was too large for me, with tags; a coat she had already told me to bring when I'd brought it too early). I don't like being lied to. I'd rather donate my clothes to places that don't sell them (a refugee center or halfway house for women in recovery) than to make a few bucks dealing with a person who doesn't respect me enough to be honest. I hoped I would be able to forget about the treatment I got from Lisa, but that still hasn't happened.

Owner is extremely arrogant and rude! I agree with the many negative reviews that said the same thing. I have never been treated this poorly by any business. I would never recommend this place or go back! It is shocking that they stay in business the way they treat customers. Buyer beware!

Ok so I’ve been looking for a certain coat for myself and Jacket for my daughter found both at this store at an awesome/affordable realistic price. Sales lady provided detail info of products and was very nice.. Definitely will visit again.

I stopped in Peddlers today. Happy to have found where the store is now. I didn't find anything today but will definitely come back. Everything is immaculate. Very pretty blond woman who worked there was quite pleasant and interacted pleasantly with other customers.

I used to frequent here a lot, for many years. .Well today was the last time, I will be going there.While shopping during the pandemic after they reopened, going in was always an enlightening experience, as you never know what you may hear from the owner.I have heard many political comments loudly with all the customers to hear. I seriously do not care what you political beliefs are, just keep it out of earshot of your customers. It is so unprofessional and you never know who is in there. It was absolutely amazing of the comments I heard, especially close to election time.Also, everytime I am there they are always bad mouthing people, just sickening!!!Today was the covid immunization conversation, with a customer and the comments were again utterly unprofessional.Again people have their opinions, save it for after hours and not in front of people to hear.I keep giving them a chance, and it happens every time I go.There are better places to go and that's where I will be.Oh ya, many many years ago, I took a lot of clothes there after my mother passed away" the owner took one look at them and said "have a garage sale." She did not take one thing, and the clothes there are no different in that store than what she had.I hope this review helped. This is after probably over 30 years of going there.

Iwas in the shop yesterday. The shop was clean and orderly,the prices reasonable the clothing nice. but it was not a pleasant experience .The proprietor made no effort to extend a friendly greeting toward me She was rather cold and indifferent,I asked if there were any discounts available ( it is a holiday weekend and it’s quite common that some merchants offer discounts.)She had a almost hostile attitude and went into a lengthy explanation about why they didn’t offer discounts, (way too much of a explanation,)I am on vacation from Va & was shopping for pleasure not out of real need. I did find two items that I chose to purchase.Her attitude when checking me out did not change it continued to be rude .I asked about a receipt and again lengthy explanation about how long they had been in business how many consignors they had & why they only gave receipts when paying with a credit card ( because she was required by law to do so.)but I like to keep track of what I pay for each item. She showed me a sign indicating they don’t do returns ( that is pretty common in the resale business so that wasn’t a problem for me) but her attitude was so inappropriateI took my 2 items,( I think $32 purchase) and left with not desire to ever go backMy shopping seem to be imposition for her. For someone who is in business dealing with customers maybe not a good thing????

I was skeptical about stopping here because of the negative reviews about rude staff. Great surprise - the store is chock full of great brand name items - and very nicely priced. I met Lisa who checked me out - she was very very friendly and helpful. I'll be back !

I've been shopping here for about 30 years -- from the time they had the location up Main St. The woman who now owns the place, Lisa, is the daughter of the original owner, who was a lovely sweet person. Lisa is the crankiest and rudest person and I've finally reached my limit for putting up with her mean, insulting behavior. I've spent thousands of dollars, but will never set foot in here again. If you don't care how you are treated, you might find clothing. If you have self respect, go elsewhere.
