Brought my daughter on 7/19/22 to be sized and order tap shoes and was told they would arrive in 2 weeks. 3 weeks later I called and was told a manager would call me in 2-3 hours. Once the manager returned my call I was told the shoes had shipped the day before and would arrive but the end of the week. Stopped in at the end of the week, no shoes, also no contact made. Scrambled to guess the shoe size and order myself as these were needed on 8/22. Lucked out getting a pair that would fit and 5 weeks after the original order received a phone call the shoes had arrived. I told them unfortunately I had to scramble to order myself because i was left in the dark in my order, was offered not even an apology for the inconvenience.

We stopped in today to get character shoes and half soles. Typically our studio orders direct from the company but my daughters size was unavailable in time for competition. Dana as always was kind and did her best to help us as my daughter has big feet and often her size needs to be ordered. We left with NOTHING. 100% due to the unprofessionalism and rudeness of Brittany (PART OWNER) She openly bashed our studio and the director/owner. She stated “ya she doesn’t send her kids to us” “she’s not from around here, she doesn’t use us” I stated that we typically order in-house and only came there because we were unable to do so do to time constraints. She let me know her feelings about that and how she felt that the shoes we are using are inferior. Now yes she’s welcome to her opinion but in that situation she should have kept it to herself. I asked Dana a question about the character shoes compared to what we had previously and told her that we had gotten them from discount dance which apparently is not up to or with Brittany either as she made another snide comment along the lines of them being “clearance shoes” and somehow that’s not ok. I can tell you we will NEVER purchase anything from them again and I will share this information with ALL of our dance friends.

Updated review 12/2021. After another 5 years of dance, we still shop at Bailey's for dance shoes. It's hard to buy tap, jazz or ballet shoes without trying them on for size and proper fit. On-line (Amazon or Discount dance) is ok for accessories and if you are sure of the fit of your clothing/ dance tights and leotards. For shoes specifically we don't think it wise to Internet order. Going into her 11th year of formal dance classes, my teen daughter was excited to get her first pointe ballet slippers. A true ballerina! She was a bitty 4 year old baby ballerina when she started. We shopped at Baileys earlier this week. The young lady who waited on us was helpful. She brought out several pairs of pointe ballet shoes (the kind that allows the ballerina to stand on her toes - ouch) for my daughter to try. Each one fit a bit differently. I hope my daughter will enjoy her new pointe shoes and find them comfortable. The shoes, plus inserts and ribbons all came to $143 approximately. Not cheap. Dance, like any sport, has related expenses.

Because of their punitive return policy and inflexible, uncompassionate customer service, I will find myself saddled with over $100 in gift cards to their store from a return I am making of brand new, never worn, still in the box shoes because I accidentally tried returned them 11 days from purchase instead of 10.
