Demotech, a major rater of insurance companies' financial solvency, in June 2024 has dropped Adirondack Insurance Exchange from its ratings because Adirondack Insurance Exchange is in serious financial decline. Now a few weeks later, Adirondack Insurance Agency has notified the State of New York that it will no longer offer insurance in New York State. This company is in severe decline.

So glad progressive no longer uses them for homeowners. Terrible customer service with never ending increase in rates each year. Had damage to my roof after a high wind storm. The adjuster who came out to the house declined my claim and never pulled out a ladder. I was told by the adjuster that he doesn't go on roofs. After telling them this it is unacceptable to deny a claim without actually getting up there, they said they would get a local company to come inspect. Weeks go by and never hear anything. At this point, my contractor is ready to complete the job as the roof is leaking water into the the house. When I called Adirondack back, they said they forgot to setup the inspection and wasn't sure when they could be out there. Ended up paying for a new roof out of pocket.

Had Adirondack Insurance Exchange for 5 years, and had a claim for a fender bender that they would no cover the full price for. Worked with John in claims and he has to be the biggest clown in that company. I would literally pick any other insurance.

I experienced a nightmarish ordeal with Adirondack insurance after my car was stolen on October 8th. The claims process was excruciatingly slow, with agent Judy Chen displaying a shocking lack of knowledge and responsiveness. Despite the car being located, she consistently gave me the runaround for four months, often failing to answer crucial calls or respond to emails in a timely manner. When it came time to retrieve my car from the pound yard, Judy's unresponsiveness reached new heights. Numerous attempts to contact her went unanswered, leaving me frustrated and stranded. Even after finally connecting, her lack of awareness about the situation was astounding, demonstrating a stunning level of incompetence. The saga continued when the car was at the dealership awaiting repairs. Despite the urgent need for Adirondack's approval, Judy once again remained elusive, causing unnecessary delays in the repair process. To make matters worse, the car was ultimately deemed totaled, and Judy's revelation about covering only five days of storage fees for over 50 days of storage at $90 per day was nothing short of outrageous. The incompetence extended to the total loss agent, who claimed to have 20 years of experience but exhibited a profound lack of understanding. As a lawyer, I find Adirondack's negligence deeply troubling, and I am contemplating legal action against them. My advice to others is to steer clear of this company, as my experience aligns with the numerous low reviews for a reason.

8 years I have had them for my home owners insurance. I had a wind storm hit my house which is covered in my policy. Adjuster came out and agreed with contractors my roof needed repaired. Adirondack kept sending different adjusters out until one said I didn't need repairs. Then they told me they weren't covering anything. Took them 4 months to tell me this. I have missing siding and visible missing shingles from the wind storm. Lawsuit
