This is an extraordinary find for everything related to lamps. The Powells are most knowledgeable and are willing to take on even the smallest of tasks, such as re-wiring a fixture. If one has a lamp in need of attention of any kind, this would be my first stop. I recommend them highly.

These people know how to macgyver these lights into fixtures that are better than new. The electric work in my apartment is awful. Round 1 was my fault because I tried to change the light bulb and upon twisting the glass cover (not depicted) my light blew up and my wires in the ceiling and my light went up in smoke. They fixed it. I then called my so-called electrician to fix the ceiling wires, and they blew up my light. I brought it back, and again they fixed this light into fixtures that are better than new! These people should be nominated for sainthood, given a Nobel Peace Prize, or at minimum given a dazzling review in wirecutter magazine or something.

They repaired quickly at reasonable cost our Vintage Table Lamp by Robert Sonneman for George Kovacs. I highly recommend this store for all lighting needs.

The proprietors run a good service for lamp wiring conversions (UK to USA wiring and sockets). Good selection of antique table lamps, wall and ceiling- mounted lighting. And Leo (their dog) is very friendly-bring dog treats!

The husband-wife team that owns this business is extraordinarily helpful. We came to their store with a George Kovacs bed light--purchased 30 years ago--that was not working. The husband, who is the chief techie, literally took the light apart, found the one piece that had failed, searched his inventory for a replacement part, and not finding one, told us where to to go. We contacted the Kovacs lighting people in California, sent them a photo of the light, showed them which part was broken, and are hoping for the best. But I fear the light is too old for any replacement parts to be in anyone's inventory. But thanks to Powell Accessories for identifying the problem, and pointing us in the right direction.

The owner is most rude person I’ve ever meet in retail. She verbally abused my little cousin for getting too close to her fixtures. No diplomacy at all. She was condescending to the customer behind me as well. She referred to him as “hey guy by the door”. Ridiculous. No professionalism. I will never go back to this store.

Completely unprofessional Owner. She abused my Cousin for getting too close to her lighting. She was rude to the person behind me and referred to him as "hey guy in the back near the door", what?! Condescending, I'll never go back.

Powell Accessories is one of the most unusual lighting stores! They have a huge selection of all different kinds of shades and a tremendous selection of vintage lamps. One of their specialties is designing and creating chandeliers that blend beautifully in your dining rooms as well as other interior spaces. Thus is one of the reasons that you will often find interior decorators shopping for their clients in their store. And if you have a light fixture that is in need of a repair or needs to be reworked, their prices are incredibly reasonable and they are dedicated and gifted professionals. In addition if you have some heirloom, for example a samovar or other treasured item, Powell Accessories will convert your antique treasure into a very classy lamp that will enhance your home, provide additional value and get to be utilized in a new and enjoyable manner. I've been a customer of Powell Accessories for over thirty years and feel that they really are a treasure to their devoted customers!!

There is only one lighting store in Westchester where if you describe the kind of light fixture or chandelier you’d like to have, they will create it for you! Brian snd his wife will find the perfect lampshade for your lamp as well as rewire old fixtures. I have brought them halogen lamps that were broken and they’ve repaired them,saving me lots of money! Many of our light fixtures in our hone were designed by Powell Accessories.
