I was the store this past Wednesday purchasing some items for myself. I had my two year old toddler and my husband with me. The cashier was so rude and spoke to my daughter in an inappropriate tone. As a mom trying to shop, I wish the associates would be more considerate. I will not be going back to his store.

I went here on a weekday with maybe one or two other customers in the store. I went to get a fitting room and an employee asked my name and then told me to go into whichever fitting room was free. All the curtains were opened so I went into the first one. As I'm trying on the shirt someone starts tapping on the fitting room frame saying hello hello and I responded that I was in there. The voice says " yeah this one wasn't open" and reaches their arm in to grab two pairs of jeans hanging on hooks on one of the walls. I thought they'd just been left there but immediately was embarrassed and thought "wow okay that's an aggressive customer to reach in while someone's changing but ok, my mistake for taking your room I guess." But THEN when I came out of the fitting room I realized it was an employee who had reached into the room while I was changing to restock the jeans. I was really taken aback that they were unable to wait another two minutes and instead opened the curtain while I was changing to reach in and grab items. I felt very violated and don't want to return to this store.

Absolutely terrible experience whenever I walk in here. I have gone several times over the past year in hopes that I might have a better experience because I really do love madewell jeans. However, every employee in this store acts as if I inconvenience them every time I walk in. I either am not greeted at all, or there are a group of employees standing at the door all talking to one another while glaring at me, and then look away to continue on with their conversation. I grabbed myself a pair of jeans today and this young lady comes up to me and goes “I’ll do it” and stands in the same area just WATCHING me. I might be overreacting but, that is not how you offer someone help. I shouldn’t have to beg for help every time I walk into the store. The jeans I was looking at originally, I immediately put down and walked out of the store. Extremely dissatisfied with this “customer service” or lack there of.

I’ve been living in Europe and they don’t have my Jean size. I recently came to the US and I immediately wanted to go to Madewell and stock up on jeans, they fit like no other jeans on me. I had many questions and wanted very specific jeans to replace my old ones. I had two wonderful women helping me find exactly what I was looking for and even the style of my FAVORITE old jeans(9” rise tencel denim) that we ordered online. These two employees made my search and experience so easy and enjoyable!

Jan 2021: Staff were incredibly helpful and so patient as we tried finding perfectly fit jeans. As someone who hates clothing shopping, I really appreciated their help!! Clothing isn't that exciting but the jeans are great

Yesterday was my first experience shopping here and I will definitely be back. The clothes fit well and are really wearable. The staff is awesome! They were all really friendly, helpful, and not pushy at all. One of the most pleasant and successful shopping trips in a long time.
