I have learned with Mr. I-Hao Lee for two years, and I think he is not only a great teacher but a mentor that cares his students very much. He has high standards and high hopes for all of his students, and he helps them to become next level violinists. I’m really enjoying working with him this summer.

I went to Meadowmount for two summers from 2012-13 and had an absolute blast. Definitely an ideal place for serious music students: excellent faculty, amazing guests, and beautiful, simple accommodations that allow you to focus fully on growing as a musician.

Terrible. While the teachers are fantastic, you are socially isolated, bringing you to the point of hardly speaking and depression, and the teachers are way to busy; each teacher has about fifty students to teach in a week! The food is also terrible. If there were zero stars I would put zero. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD THERE.

About Meadowmount School of Music
Founded in 1944 by legendary violin teacher Ivan Galamian, Meadowmount School of Music is a seven-week summer program for young violinists, violists, and cellists whose approach of intensive study and practice has helped mold some of the greatest artists of our time. Musicians ages 13 to 30+ from around the world gather at the school’s campus in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York to further their musical skills with, in Mr. Galamian’s words, “a special spirit that is conducive to total concentration on excellence in musical performance,” aided by a faculty of renowned artists.
